damn....it'll probably be coming out here in March 2012. I'll wait and when it gets closer and sounds like it's still a strong system, I'll take my chances and go to a store to pick one up.

I remember hearing on Gametrailers from Jack Tretton himself that the only confirmed release was holiday season in Japan. He didn't mention anything about the rest of the world.

dude at gamestop said their release date was 12/31 but it would be sooner then that for sure. if this thing is hot im gonna try to get 2 and make some money.

I was surprised with the AT&T announcement considering the Xperia Play was being released under Verizon.

Yeah, that fucking baffles me. Oh well, I was only going the wifi route anyway. No way I want another contract with someone. I really need to watch this thing so that I can see/hear the crowd reaction with all the booing.

$249 is a sick price point. I thought it would be at least $300. Day one purchase.

I agree....$250 is at the point where I will pick it up (if it comes out in March 2012). Told my wife about it and said it could possibly be my belated Bday gift. I would love it if other games would do the MGS transfar system. It would be one price for basically a home/portable system game.

Did I miss something? I thought it was coming out this Fall?

So I've watched 2/3's of this and I'm pretty impressed. The Vita looks fucking awesome and some of the games announced already are going to be ridiculous. Uncharted? Fuck yeah! Bioshock? Yes please! Plus I still can't get over the price. I would've spent well over $300 for that thing.

Uncharted 3 looked amazing. That demo on the capsizing ship was sick.

There is way too much Move shit though. Every game now seems to have Move capability. That's fine and all but I don't need to hear about it every two seconds.

I'm also unsure if I believe they were able to convert Ken Levine into a Move believer but he's never been known to be a sell out. Bioshock Infinte looked awesome as well. Getting Bioshock for free is pretty damn cool.

But like Bioshock, some of these freebies don't make all that much sense. Bioshock is what, a four year old game? It will be five years old by the time Infinte releases. Who hasn't played it by then? And then you have BNattlefield 3 with a free copy of 1943? Who doesn't have or have played that yet?

@ 3:55, he says it will be out in Japan for Holiday 2011 and the rest of the world by end of fiscal year (March 2012). He didn't want to get pegged to say it would come out by Holiday everywhere. I'm guessing they are going to stick to that; the demand is already going to be sky high in Japan.

I'm pretty sure that is the case, but don't quote me. I thought I read somewhere that you will either be able to download the games onto a memory stick or buy the games in stores and they will be pre-loaded onto memory sticks with extra space to download add-ons, DLC, etc if the game supports that stuff.

I haven't heard any new Steam stuff since the Portal 2 partnership.
