Roster management is true to life and apparently, this year's version is really good. Historical leagues that play to a +/-3% variation, the reserve clause for historical leagues, appropriate salaries for different decades, etc.

For a guy like you, I think you would really enjoy, and appreciate, all you can do with it and the attention to detail.
How much do those packs cost?

You can buy it for 10 bucks at best buy. They also sell it at amazon, not sure the price. The only difference is the OOTP download and the in-box version have different patches. Since you knwo how to work the internet, you'll be able to find the right version. All user-created downloads work for both.

The new one just came out, but this isn't an annual purchase for me (usually). Plus, like most PC games, it needs a few patches before it's fully functional. The only real difference is the rosters.

So in your opinion OOTP 10 is good enough to buy and is fine?

11 is the one you can buy in stores, and it's plenty good enough. I'm sure 10 would be good enough too, but I never bought that one.

Unless updated rosters are a big key for you, because the community doesn't really do modern rosters.

I'm on the edge for this. I have '11 but never really played it. I kinda wish I still had my iPad because for me its a matter of convenience and I know I'd play iOOTP

                Even Curt Schilling plays OOTP.

I wonder how many more retired/current players play this.

I picked up the game. I am using the mets to see if I can get them to the playoffs. Played one season so far. In the 1st month of the second.

First thing you should do is go to the financials and base TV revenue off of market size...

Then make it so there is no cash maximum by just typing a bunch of 9's until it won't let you anymore.

Oh and if you're a super newb make sure you've downloaded the all-in-one add on. It will give you realistic team and player information. You can find the add-ons from the first splash page.

I would also recommend checking out OOTPDevelopments' forum. The people there have a ton more add-ons and are pretty patient when talking beginners through the game.

Start a league beginning in 1876 for some real fun. Trying to play through the entire history of baseball, good times.

I need to get back to my league before I forget all the player names.
