and that's why the price of the system is lower than expected. I heard about this before and it is totally expected.

I guess I won't be buying one. I'm not going to play that game where the system is relatively inexpensive and every peripheral for it costs out the ass.

As Lefty said, handheld gaming is a tough sell a is. But this shit could price them right out if the market. These things probably cost them pennies to produce. I'm sure they are trying to recoup some costs from the low price of the system but come on.

Oh, and Atlas, take note. I'm shitting on $ony for a horrendous business practice, something I never apparently do.

Agree but how long will it lasts? They will have to allow other companies to make their own "memory cards" for the system. I think this is going to be the downfall of the system. Some games are said to not even start w/o a specific number of free space.

I read on Twitter the other day that game prices will not be static. So no standard $40 or $50 per game. They will have all sorts of pricing ranges. Hopefully this is good and doesn't turn out to have some games priced at $80.

I know Sony already does this well with PSN titles compared to XBLA. XBLA games are always standard 800, 1200 or 1600. PSN has games ranging from $2.99 to $19.99, and everything in between.

Sony has hinted in the past that downloading games on the Vita will be a cheaper option than buying them off the shelves. The scuttlebutt from a recent Sony event is that the savings could be a dramatic 40 percent for ditching the box.

According to Thrifty Nerd, Vita games will be capped off at $39.99 at retail. Downloading a game at the same price would only cost around $23, however, saving you a pretty penny by going digital. Many gamers gasped at the Vita's spendy memory cards (4GB: $30, 8GB: $45, 16GB: $70, 32GB: $120), but these savings, if true, could soften that blow.

While this prospect is exciting for prospective Vita owners, keep your expectations low until we have official confirmation from Sony.
