i know what you mean. i bought the psp at the latter part of its cycle and regretted it.

im entertaining the vita option as it looks cool enough. i alos like that you can buy a game on the ps3 and have it on the vita as well (not all). also am a ps plus member, so free stuff is nice. but im afraid it is going to be abandoned by all 3rd party developers. i also am a little confused about the memory sticks. they are basically to have expanded memory for savegames, data installs, dlc and what not right? the price tag is a little too high for me though.

also i get discounted first party game for 10 bucks a pop from the playstation loyalty site, so still on the fence!

It depends if you have a lot of downtime away from home. Do you have a commute on a train or bus? A lot of downtime at work? A spouse that hogs the one and only tv? If so then yes. I have a lot of downtime at work so I play the shit out of my Vita. I have most of the major releases and every one has been solid if not great. Plus, now with PS+ I'm incredibly happy with my purchase/

While looking at the new stuff on Vita, I DL the demo of Sin Mora last night. Just played it and was immediately reminded of R-Type. Purchased the game ($10), so far since the store update, I've spent $40 on Vita games (also bought 3 GTA games that were on sale).

when im not home im working and can't play vita. it's more of a i don't feel like gaming on a 50 inch plus tv. i just want to play some casual games. honestly it'll probably collect dust so i may not get one. it's more of a want than anything else

you can assign the triggers, L stick, buttons or dpad to it....right now I have the dpad assigned to it after trying out the buttons. If I pressed up on the R stick while driving even lightly, I would jump out of the car (same as pressing triangle). I got all the GTA PSP games on Vita after watching videos on YouTube. So far, I've only played GTA:LC and enjoyed it.

I bought one via Amazon, the AC Liberation special. Are their memory cards something specific to the Vita?

Yup. Totally proprietary and absolutely overpriced. The largest they offer is a 32GB and the MSRP is $100. In-fucking-sane.

One of the many reasons that their digital initiative is half assed. They give you 10% off if you choose the downloadable version but those games take up a TON of space on your memory card and you can't trade the game in if you choose to do so.

Yup. Now that you mention it, no real deals on games or accessories. Just deals on the console bundles.
