Hope you aren't basing that decision off of the Japanese sales numbers. B/c those should be taken with a grain of salt. For one, the Japanese market doesn't have a big time game for the Vita, Sony is pushing Uncharted over there as well, which isn't near as big as it is here. Also, Japanese gaming sales as a whole has steadily gone done that past couple years.Comment

I might get one later but not at launch.
Btw, I have an imac, but I'm not am apple fan boy. They do make good hardware though. Mine hasnt been restarted in nearly 6 months and it runs like it was just started.
I can see getting the Vita if you travel or commute but for a home body like me, I'd rather play on a console
No offense but how you described CheapyD and Apple kinda sounds like how you view Sony. I'm not trying to be a dick but just because somebody likes something, doesn't make them a fanboy.
I will form my own opinion on it when I get one, if I get one. I won't take the word of one person, you, Japanese reviews or any other source. What I like is what I like , regardless of how anyone else
feels.
And yes, I get pissy when I have to shovel freaking snow

I just listened to that yesterday and you need to remember two things. 1) He even says that he is the only person that he knows of that hasn't been glowing about the Vita. He went on to say that he guested on another podcast (8-4play?) and he was the ONLY one on the show that wasn't praising the thing. 2) He is a gigantic Apple fanboy. He spent his whole time comparing the thing to an iPhone. He obviously cares more about apps and stupid shit than actual games. Shipwreck even interrupted him to say "But what about the games. That's what I care about." And that's what I care about. I don't give a fuck about how Twitter works on the damn thing. I care about the games, trophy system, my PSN friend's list, etc.
That whole podcast reminded me that I need to stop listening to those guys. Wombat is not funny anymore and Cheapy D is the most annoying Apple fanboy I've ever heard. He thinks Apple can do no wrong. When he said "The Vita interface is kind of lame and I noticed a few glitches. It's nothing like an Apple product. An Apple product never has issues." Are you fucking kidding me? iTunes is the biggest piece of shit on my computer and my iPod has issues all the time. He's a fucking clown.
I'm not saying the Vita is the greatest device ever created but please don't take CheapyD's word for it. I can guarantee you that if it was the same fucking device but had an Apple logo on it he would be jizzing all over the damn thing.
and for the record, I don't like the guy either . I don't like how he treated his kid during the podcast and who the fuck passes out while taking a shit.
What a dumb mother fucker.
Can I still come over for round 2 of our dance party?

Fuck the iPhone and gaming on a phone period. IMO it's fucking lame as fuck and no where near the experience I get on my consoles.
Fuck yeah. I have the Kinect now although I still haven't hooked it up yet. Ha.Comment

the question isn't whether the Vita is going to be good, it's whether it's worth the price they are releasing it AND the price of a memory card AND $50 for a game. If people pay $50 for Uncharted, they will start releasing all games at that price. I think the majority of people will wait for a price drop. People have been getting used to $1 games, whether or not they are the same as a Vita game. Here in Houston, there isn't a big transit system, so I won't be playing games while taking a train. Those who do ride trains really won't have time to play games that are trying to be like home system games. The good thing about iPhone games is they are quick and you can get a couple of games in a short time period. Twigg is in the minority because he was free time, when he's sitting in his squad care just listening to his radio for crimes being committed....he can waste time, if he wants.Comment

I actually just found my old PSP and have one of the God of War games to beat.
It reminded me to come into this thread, and say that I am done with portable gaming. I am not investing at all in the Vita, especially at the prices rumored now for everything. And the reason why prices are so high? Portable gaming is dying (well, besides Nintendo and Pokemon) and they will charge the die-hards whatever they need to keep it going.Comment

PS Vita Now Selling Less than PSP in Japan, Says Report
The PlayStation Vita debuted to strong sales in mid-December. New devices usually do, and a falloff after that is likewise to be expected. But for the week ending Jan. 15—a month after its Japan release—the PS Vita had fallen to 18,361 units sold.
Not only is that far less than the 325,000 sold in its opening week, it's even less than the PSP is selling, according to the numbers published by Media Create. The PSP moved 22,538 units in the same week ending last Friday. The numbers do not include online sales figures.
Andriasang notes that Vita's slide looks like this, week to week: 324,859, to 72,479, to 42,648 to 42,915 and then to 18,361. It's way too early to call that a flop, certainly not with its North American and European debuts coming, but it could be that the PS Vita is running into some of the problems behind the 3DS' underwhelming release, or people are reluctant to adopt early because of what happened there.
