Final Impressions on franchise:
First I have to give props to Aaron and Brent. The changes that these guys put into franchise mode while we were at CD has made this a completely new game for me. And I mean that!! This mode works the way it is supposed to. Sure there is some logic things that I would tweak like lower the trade value on RP, but the financials...WOW!!! Awesome!!
Offseason works now like it is supposed to. Players under team control are renewed cheap and go through the arbitration years where salaries escalate. Teams with little budget room take on prospects and build and when they get too expensive they move on.
I have simmed 10 years 4 times. This last time, to test the integrity of the system I added 15 sp A potential and 15 position players A on top of the 26 A potential players and 13 A pitchers. I went WAY OVER KILL. I thought for sure the system would break....
I was wrong. In year 2018 I had one team over budget, but that was only because they offered arbitration and retained their own players, in 2019 (2), and in 2020(3). All these teams were small market teams letting free agents walk and retaining arbitration eligible players.
Only "name" I saw was in 2020 Hanley Ramirez on the FA list at 36. Let me preface this by telling you he is older a B player, had a bad couple seasons, and 15 of the A players I made are 3rd baseman dominating at DH 3b and 1b for many teams.
After the teams get to where their players are FA eligible they let them walk and went back to having budget room. Royals made a run when they were over budget. In the offseason after being one game from World series had to unload and start to rebuild (Marlins anyone?)
I am really satisfied with the way the system is working. Anyone worried about the FA going unsigned, put those thoughts to rest and enjoy this. Up until this season 09 was my favorite Show....
No Longer it is definitively 12 by a long margin!!!
