well I don't think it is worse and I don't mind the ads. ADs are EVERYWHERE nowadays why would xbox live be any different. Shit when I was going through a toll booth in my car there was an add on the 3 inch wide gate that swings up and down.

Yes they are but they are no where near as prevalent on their biggest competitors service. They are almost non-existent on the free PSN, which doesn't make sense at all.

The timing couldn't have been more perfect. I was just texting my cousin on how to download the Karkand maps for Battlefield. He's just as big a gamer as I am and he couldn't figure out where to find them last night either. But yeah guys, this new update is awesome!

But anyway, I tell him I'm not a fan of the new update because it's harder to find stuff and he responds with "I hate it. All advertising." LMAO. Yup.

If u go to Xbox.com it is on the front page! Go to battlefield 3 on the games tabe and check all the available downloads, fire up battlefield 3 and check DLC through there.

I was interested in the RAAM pack and it took me 5 secs to find.

If u go to Xbox.com it is on the front page! Go to battlefield 3 on the games tabe and check all the available downloads, fire up battlefield 3 and check DLC through there.

I was interested in the RAAM pack and it took me 5 secs to find.

I'm fucking telling you right now JMS the Karkand DLC was NOWHERE to be found yesterday, the day of its release. NOWHERE on any of the pages of the dash. Ask Ike. Ask Wings. They all said they couldn't find the fucking thing. You had to search for the "B" games, then scroll over like five pages to Battlefield 3. Then you had to hit "See All Items" because the only ones listed on the first page were avatar bullshit. Shocker! Once you do that you have to scroll over five or six more pages until you saw the last two items, that's right LAST TWO. Karkand Map Pack (1200 pts even if it should be free with the Limited Edition Users) and the "Multiplayer Update" at 2.07GB. The description just tells you that it's needed for the most up to date fixes and to play the Karkand pack, not that it's fucking included.

Horrible. Completely unintuitive.

Take a guess on how easy it is to find on PSN? Go ahead, I'll give you three but the first two don't count. Never min, I'll just tell you. Main page of the store. And even if you couldn't see the big fucking banner and you decided to search for it it's the FIRST FUCKING ITEM, not buried underneath themes and other miscellaneous shit that Sony is trying to bilk you for.

Just want to point out that you always have something to bitch about, and get fucking upset as all god damn hell when someone calls you stupid. In this case, you're stupid as fuck.

When something is released to the marketplace they don't always have a slide set up for the home dash. That said, when DLC is newly released, IE maybe 1-3 hours after it's been uploaded to the dashboard, most of the time the only place it will show up in is where you found it. I remember getting the Rezzurection Black Ops pack before a lot of people started to download it because of this. Every DLC I have bought over the years I have found by going to the game and searching all items because I know that's where it will show up first, which is where it should show up first.

But yeah, I'm the only person on Earth that thinks this update sucks and has been vocal about it.

I thought it was fairly common knowledge the reason you can't find the DLC for it right away on the front is because it doesn't show up on the front slides till microsoft refreshes it which generally happends at the most 12 hours after most DLC is released.

I've always just gone to the game I want DLC for and checked the updates there like grif said he did or I just go through the game itself.

That wasn't the only thing I was referring to, just one point I was making. But it did release at 4am EST and at 10pm EST it still wasn't anywhere prevalent.

That's why all of these channels are worthless. If you don't already have them, what's the fucking point? If I want to watch them I'll watch them on my fucking tv , not streaming through my Xbox. I never understood the tv channels at all.

the sad part about it is that i have EPIX with my cable service. its part of my package. But my cable company doesnt allow you to view EPIX on media device of any kind other than the epix website. So even though i already pay for it, i cant watch it on xbox.

2nd thing...i have ESPN 3 thru my cable company and i CAN veiw that on my xbox....makes sense right....lol

sidenote...one benefit to the TV channels is that its not the same channel you would watch on cable. Its basically an on demand service. Its really great cause there are a ton of movies i could watch whenever i want. So there is a bigtime upside to the channels

Fair enough. I don't know how I missed that. While that was one of my main gripes it wasn't the only one obviously. But like I said, Ike and Wings can back me up on the Karkand shit.

Ok, that is pretty cool then. So you basically get "exclusive" channels that you wouldn't get through your tv provider plus the added benefit of possibly turning your Xbox into an added receiver on a tv you don't already have one for.

It still doesn't affect me though because my bumfucked ISP isn't included in the participating providers.
