You might ask yourself what this is. Well its exactly what it sounds like. This is the top 100 games of all time. Before you piss and moan about how your favorite game might not be on here, listen. This is the top 100 games I have played and I ranked them in how much of an impact they’ve had on my gaming life and somewhat my personal life.

I have been secretly working on this list for weeks now. Atlas couldn’t put out his lists so instead of doing it as it goes along, I have ranked and written out an entire description for each game to ensure this runs smoothly. I will try to post one everyday unless of course I am not on my computer or away.

Even if this gets 0% interest from fellow posters, I promise I will finish this. If I don’t, I will resign from my Admin position and leave VSD forever. BTW I am not reviewing games, i am just telling you why they are in my list.

WWF Smackdown 2

God, this game takes me way back, back to my freshman year of High School. If anyone played the original Smackdown they might remember how bland the CAW was and for me Create A Wrestler was a big thing. I loved to create my wrestler identity known as “Ice” Ice was a name taken from WWF Attitude Create A Wrestler. Tidbit here, WWF Warzone and Attitude just missed the top 100. Back to the Creating, WWF Smackdown 2 had the most in depth Create A Wrestler I’d ever seen at that point. I was hooked.

I must have spent countless hours playing this game. If I was in school I was thinking about who my wrestler was gonna face next in Season Mode or how I could wreak havoc in the new table matches and hell in a cell. The game had me hooked worse than any game that was out at the time.

I did have gripes with the game. The collision detection was crappy at times and the way everyone sold the fucking Stone Cold Stunner drove me crazy. Finally the Loading time during season mode was almost unbearable but I stuck through it just because it was so fucking fun.

Gran Turismo
Platform: Playstation



I got Gran Turismo probably 6 months before Gran Turismo 2 came out. I was never really a big fan of racing games since Mario Kart but something told me to get Gran Turismo.

I remember the first time firing up Arcade mode before I even sniffed Career. I was breathless. The game was absolutely gorgeous. Compared to now it looks like shit but seriously at the time I’d never seen a Playstation game look that damn good. In comparison to now, roughly 200 cars is nothing but at the time I had my Mustang so I didn’t give two shits. I was happy with what I had. I spent a lot of time playing this game with my dad and friends in Arcade mode but the Career mode they had at the time was cutting edge. I had never understood tuning cars until I picked up this game.

Gran Turismo was revolutionary for Racing games and laid the ground work for future Gran Turismo titles and Forza. Gran Turismo is so low on my list because it can’t stand the test of time. It has been outdone in every possible way and I honestly don’t think I could go back and play it now. The next generations of consoles has spoiled us.

I never had the smackdown for playstation, but the one for playstation 2 was the first game I had for the console.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2
Platform: Sega Genesis



I was never a huge Sega guy. I had one but barely played it, I was a Nintendo Fanboy up until I got a Playstation. Be that as it may, Sonic 2 was pretty fun for its time.

The addition of Miles “Tails” Prower to an already incredible platforming series was just icing on the cake. My memories with this game are mostly with my friend Alberto coming to my house while my mom was “dating” his dad. He had a Sega and mostly played Altered Beast (which slightly missed my top 100). He never had Sonic but I did and we would play it for hours. We must have beat this game 100 times and now that I have it on my xbox I forgot how to play it like I used to.

Sonic 2 pretty much gave Super Mario a run for his money but in my opinion could never live up to the following Mario had. But that’s no reason to say Mario is 100x better than Sonic 2. Sonic 2 was a lot of fun and brought a whole new dimension to the platforming genre. If you’ve never played this or are too young to have, I recommend you download it on PSN or XBL.

Roller Coaster Tycoon
Platform: PC



Good god I still play this game. I have always been a big fan of sandbox games and when I first tried this game in 1999 because my friend let me borrow it, I was hooked. For any amusement park enthusiasts, this is your game.



From the simple stuff like putting in bathrooms, info centers and drink stalls to the more complex log flumes, water slides and roller coasters, this game was one of the most in depth sims I’ve ever played. You could charge an arm and a leg to get in the park or make the admission free and jack up the prices for every ride. I know I am not the only one here that made a free fall tower too fast going up and shot patrons into the sky, killing them all. This game got a lot of the sadistic side out of me. Sure the game spawned 2 sequels and RCT2 is probably the best in the series, this game is a classic and for some reason really underplayed. If you can find a good torrent of this game, get it. You will not be disappointed.

I liked it but not as much as RCT. Coaster creation in Sim Theme Park was retarded and most everything was themed a certain way. I liked RCT cause you could theme things however you wanted.

RCT was awesome but the customization I could do in RCT2 with mods and downloading themes was amazing. I remember having a themed section of one of my parks with Jurassic Park. Now I want to play RCT2 but it's been lost over the years.
