Ok....so don't download this. It is pretty dumb and there is a good reason it is free.
This expansion pack (if u want to call it that) is a checklist of dumb shit to do with each car. They added achievements but it will take quite some time and DLC to get them all if your interested that sort of fetish.
They added a fast travel to anywhere to save time...but it costs real money. Do you really want to be in the FORZA 1000 club? Well good luck as the game only comes with ~136 cars. Math says 136 cars times 5 medals per car = 680 medals. How will I get the rest of the medals??? I will need to buy DLC cars. There are currently ~75 DLC cars.
Therefore all this free DLC appears to be is way for Turn 10 to maybe squeeze just a few more buck out of people. Which is fine but IMO unless you really want to just drive around fetching stuff like a quest system, dont waste your time. Your time with this game would be better spent racing online IMO.
Oh yeah...you cant do any of the challenges if you are not signed in to xbox live.Comment

well technically it is fine. I mean everything is totally optional...I don't need to buy anything. I can simply play it for a while get a few medals and be done with it. It won't cost me a dime. If you feel the need to get every freaking medal...then yeah you have to pay for it. Is it bullshit??? I am not sure. It honestly is a bit devilish and from the developers point of view seems genius if they generate more income from it. It is sort of like the FTP model. Here is the game for free...but if you want 100% of everything you will need to pony up some dough.
Its not the same as paying $60 for game and when you get to the final race to beat the game...they make you pay 347 ms points and download it off the market place. That would be fucking crossing the line.
That's why i never really have a problem with DLC...it is totally optional and allows developers to make some money after the initial purchase...which in these times is mandatory. I guess the biggest problem I see with it is you will never see a COD or BF with 30 maps out of the gate. Why do that when they can milk you for 5 more maps for $10 every month.Comment

Yeah, it's free and totally optional. I understand that. But I didn't like the way they handled the DLC in the first place with this game. It was way overpriced. The game was plenty fun but they smack you in the face at every opportunity with "Our ridiculously over expensive DLC is available now! Press X to download!" And then they try this bullshit "freemium" model but it's doubly insulting knowing that this was a full priced retail game.
I'm sorry, but you don't see anything like this shit with any PS3 exclusive. You have Sony giving you games and crazy discounts with a $50 subscription and somehow M$ is going in the complete opposite direction and getting away with it. I don't get it.
There was an El Nino of a shitstorm over the scavenger bot microtransations in Dead Space 3 and they were no where near as egregiously disgusting as this shit. But I bet you don't hear a peep from any gaming outlet about this.

Kinda sounds to me like they are slowly inching toward in game purchases like they do in mobile games, 'cept you have to drop $60 bucks first.
