Ha! I remember one of the sites posted a video of game play shortly before the game released and that was one thing that he said it took a while to get used to. I asked Swarley about it the other day too and he said he onnly had a few story missions left and he still wasn't accustomed to it. LOL.

The rub is that you ALWAYS can get Triad points no matter what because you're constantly beating ass throughout the game.
Cop Points only accumulate when you don't act insane on the road or kill people (no environmental kills) OR doing Cop Missions exclusively.
So if you were hoping to get all 3 Cop-related trophies/cheevos and 100% the game... it's tough sledding.
Then again... REPLAYABILITYComment

Finished the first Date introductory mission, "Amanda."
Game had me show her around North Point, basic stuff like Club Bam Bam, the Temple and finally stopped off at the Kung Fu Academy.
Learned the foot sweep (SWEEP THE LEG JOHNNY!), got a new outfit and now I have my very own pet White Girl.
ADDENDUM: Just did the secondary Date mission for Amanda.
Dumb stuff but knowing where all the Health Shrines are on the map is always a plus.Comment

Just finished it, it was one of the better endings but I still would have liked for the endingto be where you pick a side and try to get to Pendrew either way (different storylines).
Do you ever get to call the black guy that you showed around? Or is that part gone after one setting?Comment

the combat in this game is hard and kind of a pain in the ass. Its really somewhat annoying that an entire battle is based on timing your counter moves. where are the fucking guns? i know the guy is a cop but that doesnt stop him from shredding some dudes face in a fan...so why not just shoot people. The combat is a real turn off and takes away from an otherwise decent gameComment

Also you learn more moves as you get further in which helps. Bottom line.....fighting 5 vs 1 should never be easy. The enemies dont wait like Assassin's Creed, which I always thought was dumb.Comment

i dont have a problem with it being difficult or challenging. but there is a difference between being a challenge and frustrating due to poor control response. I love that guys dont wait either, but when i am hitting someone and someone else comes up from behind and i hit the Y button to counter his attack, but yet nothing happens and i get hit...rinse repeat and then die....thats not a challenge, thats just annoying. If the counter was supposed to be such a huge part of the fight, then it needs to respond correctly when its used.
The only reason this combat isnt like batman is because in batman when you push the buttons they actually respond with a move. You make a mistake, you get hit. Thats not the case hereComment

I'll admit it's a little annoying that getting tagged by some thug while you're in the middle of another fight... but like JMS said, you're not jumping into fair fights for most of the game.
If you're not planning ahead and just mashing the attacking button is going to get you killed.
If you feel that the connectivity between your button presses and what happens on the screen is lacking, you gotta adapt.Comment
