I liked his video much better than the OP. I had no idea what the fuck was going on and what was the objective of the game was. I see myself playing like that initially because 1. I have no experience with the game, 2.There is Zombies sprinting out of no where 3. There is dickheads who will be looking to kill me and take my shit.

I finally found a barn with a stash including a hatchet, Lee Enfield, and a double-barreled shotgun. Unfortunately for me, I lost both the Lee Enfield and hatchet while I was sorting out my inventory to make some room for the Lee Enfield ammo.

I doubt it. There are just too many actions in ARMA, and almost every key on the keyboard has its own different function.

Well, that settles it. I wont be playing.

That's the appeal to me and I'm sure others.

As far as I'm concerned, video games took a wrong turn (for my tastes, surely not for profits) a long time ago when they continually tried to make themselves more appealing to broader audiences. Basically, easier. Half the games you play these days are bloody automatic-press X to win-type games. (See Call of Duty, Uncharted, etc). Endless save points or saving, challenge is minimal and difficulty only just makes the game lame rather than hard.

Ideas like this are awesome. The fact that you can be perma killed, that when you play you're putting it all on the line, is exactly what I'm excited about. That's where the adrenaline and intensity is going to come from, rather than being able to play fearless because you can just pick up where you left off seconds ago if you die. Almost renders dying pointless if there's no real punishment for it.

          Anyways, enough ranting.

This sounds hard as fuck and I can't wait. Much like it would be in a real life zombie apoc, you can't just trust anyone, they might backstab you, you might backstab them. Gotta survive however it takes.

Its also worth noting that the maps are so massive that running into people is not a very common occurrence. In my limited time I've only ran into one guy, and he just saluted me and kept moving as I awkwardly stood there pressing buttons looking for a salute.

You can download third party drivers that can emulate the 360 controller. That's what I used to play Metro 2033 with my PS3 controller, and I'm currently using it for Assassin's Creed with no problems.

I have the drivers for my PS3 controller just a matter of whether or not it will work with this game. If I can at least move and shoot with the controller with the other shit being mapped to the keyboard Ill be fine with it.

There's a blurred "ball" on the edge of the screen when the zombie (or animal) is just out of view that you can use as a makeshift rangefinder if you aren't sure how close they are.

played for 30 mins but not sure if the server I was on was bunk or not.

didn't see one player, zombie or animal. couldn't find shit either, wandered the coast line for about 10 mins, said fuck it and ran off into the woods for another 20 or so. Have to go but that was that.

Arma 2 is a pretty game tho, laptop handled it easily but I bumped settings down to normal to get a better framerate. Looking forward to more wandering later tonight.
