But wouldn't that be realistic of Washington State football?

If I was playing with them lol. I am just using the offensive concepts that Price employs in his version of the one-back.

theres something wrong with how punt returns work....by the time the camera goes behind the returner..its too late and you think theres no defender coming and the all the sudden from the side of the screen without warning, someone appears...its bogus to say the least...and so is ice the kicker from a hashmark

I know it's probably the exact same game, but I'm caving and buying it.

Gonna run a Georgia State teambuilder dynasty offline.

the camera flips as soon as the ball is punted, so im not 100% sure what that complaint is about...

Maybe stop being un-sim and call some fair catches?

ok, pay attention....its happening faster then it should and also..this year you arent able to wait too long to call fair catch. They cut that window as well. Its efing broke and a turnover waiting to happen

                        Same here.

Here are some of my other initial thoughts... disclaimer, I just got the game an hour ago, have run one a full game, 6 minutes w/ heisman default. Auburn v. LSU.

Lost 24-23, went for 2 with no time on the clock because I didn't feel like playing OT.

                        Team Stats:

                        AUB: 11 1st Downs, 252 yds., 22 rushes for 58 yds., 2 FUM, 13-18 passing for 194, 1 TD-2 INT
                        LSU: 11 1st Downs, 343 yds., 17 rushes for 39 yds., 1 FUM, 22-35 passing for 304, 3 TD-1 INT

                        - Turnovers are too frequent on default Heisman. Both teams had 3 takeaways by half-time, and it only continued in the 2nd half. The first 14 points Auburn scored were on interceptions returned for TDs, but one of those was a really dumb throw which I deserved.

                        - New receiving animations are nice. I like how the position of the ball actually affects the chance for yards after catch now. It's not necessarily fluid all the time, felt a little wonky, but it's still nice to see a better variety of catches.

                        - Jacked up DB awareness is a good thing, so I won't complain.

                        - However ... DBs having such excellent breaking ability renders throwing to the sideline pretty useless. Luckily the middle is wide the fuck open. (I believe Ser Larry mentioned a certain Four Verticals play? Yeah, that shreds the deep middle third. Attacking LBs and safeties over the middle seems to be the way to go this year.

                        - Game was pretty fun, all things considered. I scored a late TD to tie it at 17, but couldn't stop them from answering. They scored with :08 left, seemingly clinching the game, but then they decided not to have anybody covering over the top so Russell Shepard ran past everybody on a basic seam route for a 75 yard score. He was the only deep receiver too, LOL.

So all in all ... eh? Some nice subtle new wrinkles, a few new animations, and a slightly re-calibrated AI. Game feels good though, not regretting the purchase. I'm a hardcore NCAA guy so the 20th anniversary edition is kind of huge. And since Carson Palmer cover of 03 was my first year with it, this is year 10 for me.

Adjusted Slider Heisman seem to be giving me the best games...

Overall, the game is just a more refined version of the current generation NCAA...if you've played, 12 or 11 or 10 or 09, you've played this game before...just a little more refined all around. The game doesn't play like actual football...it plays like a video game version of football. The reasons why this game is the way it is have been discussed ad nauseum...it won't change. MAYBE in the next generation there will be some sort of significant paradigm shift in how this game presents the game of college football, but I doubt it.

I'd rather they simply take the Madden gameplay, and overlay NCAA skins on it...even if its a development cycle behind...at least you'd get more refined gameplay and the continuous advancements in gameplay that Madden has...it may not always be a homerun, but at least the game changes things up every once in a while toward a more sim like game...I figure if NCAA did this, the game may be "dated" but at least the gameplay is a full developmental cycle from Madden toward refinement. Plus, NCAA as is, is an extremely dated engine at this point...so, it couldn't hurt...its just the same thing every year and the way the animations interact with one another in this current way, it'll never even LOOK like a game of football...and I'm a sucker and I buy it...I just wish these boys either A) took some pride in their work...I mean, they can't really think they are drastically changing anything each year or B) got better people do this work.

Overall, I'll try to enjoy it...I can see this thing collecting dust very soon though if I start to catch on to a lot of the flaws.

Passing defense is fucked for both user and cpu. The swat button doesnt seem to work and not being able to strafe on defense makes tackling difficult and defending the pass. The safeties and coverage logic is retarded. DBS take false steps and safeties are too concerned with underneath routes instead of the deepest man. At first I thought it was blown coverages, but after playing for a week, its poor design.
