I love that the N64 had SMB 64 and Pilot Wings 64 and people still paid that price to buy the system because was the new thing...

The games were cheaper because they made you go out and buy a seperate unit for save games. You could buy Soviet Strike (awesome game, btw) for $48 and never save. You had to spend $25 on a 112K (kilobyte, lol) memory card....which would fill up after saving 3 or 4 different games.

I remember when I was trying to decide between purchasing a N64 or a PSOne as I had just got my first job and the determining factor was games on the N64 were like $70 and the same games were half that price on the Playstation so I ended up going that route, plus I always felt like you needed 3 hands for that N64 controller lol. Not to mention I loved playing some NFL Gameday which was better then Madden at that time.

I remember calling TRU all over Houston looking for SMB 3 (in '93)and finally finding one about an hour away....my mom drove an hour away and spent $50 on it...lol.Comment
