I used to LOVE 2K bball games back on Xbox 1 (can I still call it that), but it seems the past few years the controls have gotten way too complicated for an old geezer like myself. I rented last years game and was completely lost. Hold LT, X and swirl the right stick counter clockwise to perform a post up move? No thanks.

I was actually hoping Live would be decent with the simple controls I remembered it for back in the PS1/PS2 days but it looks like that game is a pile of trash.

Absolutely horrendous from the reviews and videos I've seen. Yet to see a single person say, really anything good about it.

2k has a bigger learning curve these days for sure which is good and bad. For us hardcores it just means way more for us to do but yeah, it's rough for casual players. They do have a pretty good tutorial system to teach you the ropes in about a half hour.

I think I gave that a try when I rented it but it seemed like it was taking forever and I just wanted to play a game. It didn't help that I only had it for one night so my patience was extremely thin.

And yeah, I'm sure for the hardcore crowd it's awesome. Being able to call plays on the fly and having access to a bevy of crazy shots, dunks and passes is awesome. But I miss the days of hopping online with my buddy and just having to know what buttons shot and passed the ball, and attempted blocks and steals. And the free throw shooting was a challenge but easy to master, which I liked.

Side note.. You should all really get Costco memberships.

It's less than $10 a year and you can save a lot of money on a TON of shit.

My gym membership discount that I get is much, much more than than my annual Costco membership fees.

I'm at work so I can't check, but I'm relatively sure you can change the controls to bring it somewhat to your liking.
