You do know that the system being on or off makes no difference during an electrical surge right? Unless you're plugging/unplugging it into the wall you might want to look into a surge protector.
I keep my shit on stand by 24/7. I also have the charging station for my controllers so I don't even have to plug my controllers into the system to charge them. I just enjoy being able to instantly play instead of waiting for the shit to boot up. It's nice to be able to pause a game when I'm going to bed, put the system into standby and then return to the same game the next day after work.Last edited by Argath; 11-27-2013, 10:08 AM.Comment

During the week I shut mine down. On the weekends I will leave it on standby.Comment

So have y'all been leaving your PS4's on Stand-By mode when you aren't using them or shutting them off? I've been shutting it off outside of the night before I knew a Sony firmware was coming out this past week. I could just be paranoid, but I'm just worried leaving it on stand-by all the time is going to bite me in the ass or something.

@Kotaku: We raced an Xbox One and PS4 to install a game. What a difference: http://t.co/hEOqgijN6m

I'm in the running to give a kid a bad Christmas starting tomorrow.
Lucky for me, my family's been eating Thanksgiving Dinner earlier and earlier every year.
"Unfortunately" this is going to be the third time I'll be in a pre-order line situation where I'm standing in the cold with a bunch of people I don't care to know.Comment
