Anyone see the conference where they talk about the possibility of the xbone having an emulator in the future? Apparently there are some issues to wrinkle out, but that would be a cool and welcome addition for this console.Comment

Yeah, apparently me and EVERY podcast I listen to have the 'user error' issue.
But I'm sure all of us are wrong and the handful of Xbots on this site are right.

Did you guys set it up correctly (I.e. Turning your speakers up to point where during the setup it tells you to turn them down)? Bc that's how I did it and only issues I've had are the ones I've posted in here. I can damn near whisper and it picks up the commands well enough.Comment

Yes. Multiple times in fact. I give up. It's only slightly more precise than the last shitty Kinect. The sign in thing is probably the most annoying though. I swear every week on the CAGcast they talk about the voice command and sign in issues they all have with the console. For instance it took FOUR tries to turn the console off yesterday. I just said fuck it and used the controller. It's gotten to be such a pain that yesterday my wife and I had just finished watching a movie. I checked the Orioles score on my phone and saw the game was in the 9th. My wife says "Why don't you turn on the game and we'll watch that before we start a game? " Then I realized I'd have to turn on the XBone to watch tv and knew what a pain it would probably be and didn't want to deal with the headache. "Xbox on" seems to work a good 80% of the time but "Xbox, watch tv" is a different story. And "Xbox, turn off" is a total crap shoot.
I do find it funny that initially MS was all "entertainment, entertainment, entertainment" and how the XBone was going to be your ONE and only entertainment hub. Now that they are faltering big time in sales they have quickly changed their tune to "games, games, games". Quite possibly the phoniest company on the planet, and they're all pretty fucking phony.

It hears me, it just doesn't understand me. It gets the 'Xbox' part but its a crap shoot after that.

either you dont speak clearly and concisely enough (user error) or you didnt set it up right/its brokadid.
quite frankly, with the amount twigg bitches about every minor niggle this or any other console has, i write his opinion off as just another whiny statement.
but garrett, you have to say xbox and pause a second, you can't just go XBOXSELECT, you have to go xbox..... select. it was a PITA for me at first, but doing it that way gets my voice command accuracy over 90%, despite what twigg and his many podcasts of truth might have to say on the matter.
edit: i've never had the sign issue that twigg is talking about, but that's mostly due to me saying xbox on and after 10 seconds saying xbox sign in as atlas.Comment

I have tried it every way that you can think of, with pause, without pause, I have even tried taking the cock out of my mouth.
It isn't always an issue, just with some things.
The camera NEVER recognizes me. Its not a big deal though, its not like its that hard to sign in manually. There really should be an auto sign-in though.
