    Okay...

According to somebody who works for Atlus here in the U.S. on the Destructoid stream - http://www.twitch.tv/destructoid

...you gotta beat the first 9 levels of the game offline to unlock online play.

Something about unlocking the Stables as well, I think?

Love this game. It has the same artstyle as Muramasa: The Demon Blade and plays a lot like it. I picked Elf because arrows.

Working on a Dwarf right now, above Level 10... 11 maybe at this point (I should be higher for the review but... ).

Of what I saw from a few Wizard playthroughs, dude's the more offensive-based spellcaster and he has a LOT of Aerial moves to boot.

Having an NPC Sorceress that has the food spell is Civilization by the time you reach the Castle of the Dead (fucking AWESOME name for an area BTW).

        Just HP on HP.

I'm playing as a wizard and his moves are pretty awesome. There's one where you can double jump and then fall with style for awhile before you come back down. Raining down lighting bolts and fire balls from above is pretty badass. The Wizard also does some nightcrawler shit when you do the evade moves.

I had to trade up NPC Wizards (since they don't level with you after you resurrect them... dumb... ) and until I reached the Castle of the Dead, the one I bring with me currently is a boss.

So much so that when I found one with better stats but worse skills, I just buried the new guy.

...now I want to start a wizard-only playthrough.

Read somewhere that even when you do finally unlock the online co-op there's no mic support for it..... Seriously? Fucking idiots.

I finally go back to Caanan Temple to see how many sets of bones I had on me after my first run through the Castle of the Dead...

                11/32.

Two level 10s (an Elf and a Sorceress), a boatload of 9 (Wizards, Fighters and another Elf to go with the Amazon), a pair of level 8 Amazons and a Level 7 Elf that honestly shouldn't have made it as far as she did in the Castle where she died.

The thing I hate is that all the NPC allies' equipment eats a bag of dicks.

                  Beat the Pirate's Cove.

There was plenty of NPC bones to collect there too and a chest full of treasure if you know where to click (there's like ONE hidden area that I found, the rest is in hidden spots to click on).

Also, the last boss area was tits...

                  A Friggin' Genie?

                  That I can control?

You're too good to me, Dragon's Crown.

Jay we will need to do some co-op.

                    Once we both unlock it...

I just got past the Ancient Ruins (the Roman Coliseum, not the LVL 1 dungeon) and the giant ass Golem.

Now for Wallace's punk ass and hopefully a giant dragon to put my two axe blades in.

                      THEN WE CO-OP FOR...

So I broke down and bought this on a lark...played a little bit of the tutorial before deciding to quit so that I could play co-op with the female. Jay, question: have you played Shadow over Mystara? It is kind of jarring to me how much this game is calling back to that. That's a good thing.

I almost bought the D&D digital package that was on PSN a while back but decided against it.

I will say that the narration definitely fits a Dungeon Master and the setting's like any other you'd hear during a game night...

What character did you pick to play as?

I went with the Tranny Amazon. Couldn't pass up the escalating damage, even if the concept makes her seem a little easy. I played so much D&D as the Magic User that I shied away from the Wizard and Tits McGee, as they seemed very similar to that playthrough style. I really like it so far. Very responsive controls and despite the controversy about the art style, it's pretty consistent and seems almost tongue-in-cheek to me.

Alright so I unlocked the online co-op for myself now, I'm only level 11 though because I haven't finished most of the side quests yet.

I ended up doubling down on this game and buying it for Vita (I got it for cheaper on ps3 because gamesharing). Thank you cross-save.
