well considering it only cost me 6 dollars from redbox as i took my game back to gamestop and got my money back. so for 6 bucks it was a pretty good game. not great, not game of the year. It wasn't as bad as i was expecting.

One thing I don't get about that article is the assertion that reviews are journalism. Reviews, by their very nature, is just a person's opinion of the game. It is up to a reviewer to offer purchasing advice based on their opinion of the product. What needs to change is not the way those people review games, it's the people that think reviews need to be everything to everybody.

It's hilarious to me that this opinion piece thinks that reviews and journalism have any business being in the same sentence, let alone having the same standards or qualifications.

As always it comes down to exactly what the writer is getting at: if you don't trust reviewers, then play the game yourself. It's simple. No one is forcing you to take their advice.

I totally agree with that, but the fact is a lot of people are dullards and take reviews as gospel to guide their purchases. Opinions are obviously the main aspect of any review but if you're a professional reviewer you have to have due diligence in knowing that your opinion can, and in many cases will, alter someone's decision on whether to make a purchase.

finished the game today.......

like i said, its a different kind of game. lots and lots of story mode/cut scenes.
very cool from that perspective - especially since the Destiny storyline sucks

Meant to post that I beat the game last Thursday after playing for 5 hours straight. I must say that I really enjoyed the game and the hatred it got still boggles my mind. Just seems like the trendy thing to do these days I guess.

I will say that the storyline seemed set up for a sequel as they didn't explain some things. They left a lot open as well with characters such as Isi and Lord Hastings, which again I'm sure was planned for future renditions. I will say fighting the Lycans and 'Elders' were certainly the most enjoyable battles.

I did get a kick out of some chapters being completely cutscenes, but I didn't mind it. Games like Final Fantasy do the same exact thing and don't get shit on as much as this game did. All in all, I enjoyed the game and felt it was worth the price of admission.

That all being said, I do think that the lack of replay value is what hurts this game the most.

Too late now obviously but I think Best Buy had this for $39.99 ($31.99 with GCU) last week. Amazon does have it for $39.99.

I agree. It was neat that they used some actual history as well, but after awhile, the items just got boring and tedious. It's also odd that you put the items back down rather than 'collecting' them like most games have you do.
