You can probably run BF4 on ultra with a 560ti but you will not be able to turn any AA on.

Ask some of the guys here, they can point you in the right direction. There are also plenty of threads related to builds with parts, so you can look through those as well.

I actually got a really good deal for a laptop on Xotic PC, which I took instead of trying to build one. They have a lot of different selections if you didn't want to build your own for whatever reason.

Yes, AA removes all the jagged edged and lines in the games. Smooths out all the graphics produced by a digital image. Simply put it makes everything look better.

I suspect my biggest issue is my four-year-old video card.

Yes, I recommend them to everyone if they don't want to build a PC. Love the fact that they have relationships with the companies that they sell on the site, so you don't have to worry about their custom work being undone or messed with under warranty. It's always the little things.

Question on a build. This is for a coworker who has gaming on his mind. Im a bit out of touch with GPU/Vcards so want to be sure I'm giving correct advice.
Keep in mind his likely most intensive uses will be AUTOCAD and BF4. BF4 he'd like to run on PC monitor his HDTV.

Initially he was aiming for this duo

Save on products that may have been on display or returned - frequently with manufacturer's warranty.

However he uses up most of his budget on this and his GFX card was about 120$ and from what I read was not going to run BF anywhere near a high setting.

So my advice was drop down a level in CPU (and maybe MB) to the below and use the additional funds for a better GPU.

I really havent looked at motherboards yet but would it be easier to find a DUAL HDMI GPU or try to find a motherboard with HDMI and try to get it to work in conjunction with the GPUs HDMI ((in my experience an annoying proposition)).

Im assuming even on the high end I7 the IntelHD will be superb for AUTOCAD and HD VIDEO but will certainly hiccup on BF4.

Am i on the right track here ?

What would be the starting point for a GPU that could handle BF4 on high settings. I assume JMS link on the previous page is a good pair to start with?
Best reason to have a license.

                    CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116901
                    Motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130693

I would buy these from microcenter as you get a $30-$40 discount on the motherboard combo

Best bang for you buck Grafx would be a GTX 760...but to future proof a bit I would probably spring for the 770.

All video will be run off the video card not both. There are no single GPU dual HDMI cards that I know of. You have to use HDMI combines with DVI or display port. I dont see a reason to buy a $300 motherboard unless you are planning on doing triple SLI and some major overclocking. If possible I would buy everything from Microcenter if possible. They have the best prices and they also have a lot of open box stuff that works just fine.
                    • PSU - I would go with a modular Corsair.
                    • RAM - He could benefit form 16GB
                    • Storage - SSD are fantastic but are pricey
                    • Case - Corsair makes great cases.
                    • Cooler - I imagine he is going to overclock. Haswell chips run hotter but more efficient power wise...look at Corsair Liquid Coolers. I have had a H80 for years now and have had no problem with temps...I am not overclocking though. I have no need to right now.

Good luck...ask away. I am no expert but I do study up on this stuff on a daily basis.

I do own a gaming PC. It's great to have a cousin who knows computers inside and out - dude can take one apart and put it back together. He built a high-end PC for me in 2000 and recently upgraded it. This sucker runs better than ever. I use it for gaming(mainly Unreal Tournament) and graphic design work.

Looks to run BF4 at 1080p Ultra at around 40FPS.

GTX 750ti. Uses 60w and a 6 pin connector. Currently runs Titanfall better than X1. Do it.
