I bought my PS4 in February and it bricked a couple weeks back.

You'll absolutely need a POP if you don't feel like paying for the repair yourself. I had to go to Best Buy and let them run my CC to pull up the receipt and print me a copy.

Did yours brick during gameplay or boot-up or during a software update? I thought 2.0 had bricked mine but thankfully it still worked after pulling the power cord out and letting it go through the recovery process.

I was watching Netflix and it did a hard shutdown. Became completely unresponsive.

I've been researching online and found someone who is convinced this is a power outage failure. He wrote that after buying a UPS or battery backup this problem stopped. This would make sense except for that fact that my Xbone never has any issues staying in standby mode.

I haven't gotten around to boxing up PS4 #2 yet and taking it to best buy to swap it out yet but when I do I will keep you all informed. Hopefully third times the charm.

We're still talking about the random eject function right? I'm just asking because I know that was your primary problem, and then it turned into something worse.

I read somewhere that there's a "loose screw" that makes the ps4 think it wants to eject and if you pop the thing apart you can tighten it with a jeweler's tool or a small Phillips.

Either way, I'm starting to sweat.

That was what my first one did as well as waking up from rest mode randomly. Now my second one just will shut all the way down from rest mode after a few hours. Not nearly the same problem but still frustrating with a new machine.

Third time is not the charm...shut off after about 4 hours.

Something is fucked on your end. That doesn't make any sense.

                      My PS4 Problem

Idk what the deal is. I even tried it in a different outlet this time. I would be more inclined to believe it could be an issue with outlets but my xbone is plugged into the same outlet and is always in rest mode.

But yeah I give up. No rest mode for me I guess.
