I could be wrong but I think they plan on supporting the game for quite a while. They already have. the game has been out for how long and they are constantly updating it. If these new maps do release in December it may be the perfect time. Some people, me included, will be tired of CoD in a month. I know others still play CoD4 religiously and I just don't understand it. They release, what, ONE map pack for that game and it's over two years old? How anyone could still be playing that tired ass game after so long baffles me. And my wife is one of them. Although she hasn't played it in a bit.

Slant Six has been horrible with updating this game, only reason it seems like there still supporting it after a year is ebcause they are so slow at there updates.

My bad then. I thought I kept hearing that they were constantly updating and patching the game. This isn't the first map pack, is it?

These a lot of rumor and speculation about this and Socom 4 being lniked for S6 to take the fall.

They have released like five or six patches now in the span of a year (which is a whole hell of a lot better than Zipper ever did) and S6 has done a decent job of keeping the community informed, but for over six or seven months, features touted in the game's own instruction manual weren't even in the game. They finally just added clan tournaments and shit like that.

I really don't think there's going to be another SOCOM anytime soon. The game as it stands is pretty damn good now, and most of the bugs and glitches are gone (at least from what I have read).

S6 has been slow about getting some of the promised features out onto the game, but now that the game is fixed, they should be able to switch most of their resources over to content creation. I definitely don't think S6 has done as bad a job as many people think.

I agree with this. Been playing this since last September on the beta and they just had a really bad launch where it discouraged a lot of people. I'm still going to buy MW2 and get the new DLC and just chop up my playing time between these two games.

The big rumor is Slant Six contract is up and not getting renewed and that the DLC was made by someone else.

And the reason Zipper didnt do patches was because it was ps2, you had what? a dinky ass memory card if you never had that hard drive.

Look on page 6, first post for more deatls but bascially for $10 you get 5 maps, a new game mode, new weapons, more custimizable things. Which i think is def worth it.
