1. RF Jonny Gomes - Cincinnati Reds
Who would've known that Jonny Gomes would be 5h in the NL in batting average considering he's had a history of hitting problems. Gomes is a key part of that Reds offense, as he has led the Reds to first place in the NL Central with a record of 21-14. Statistics: .350 BA (5th in NL), 11 HR (1st in NL), 27 RBI (2nd in NL) Fantasy Stock: --
2. SP Matt Cain - San Francisco Giants
Matt Cain has been absolutely fantastic so far in this very young season. His powerful pitching has allowed the Giants to maintain first in the NL West. The past two seasons, Cain has had twice as many losses (30) as wins (15). So far, he is 7-0, and this looks to be a breakout season for the 24-year-old right-hander. Statistics: 7 Wins (1st in MLB), 0.83 ERA (1st in MLB), 66 K (1st in MLB) Fantasy Stock:
3. SP Ian Snell - Pittsburgh Pirates
Ian Snell has been nothing short of outstanding this year. Although the Pirates haven't played well this season, Snell has. Snell has been nearly unhittable, as batters have a .153 average against him. His changeup has been filthy this year, which is a big reason why he has 40 strikeouts in 51 innings pitched. Statistics: 1.75 ERA (5th in NL), .153 Opp. BA (1st in MLB), 51.1 IP (9th in NL) Fantasy Stock:
