I didn't even realize that I was spelling Lincecum's name wrong. Wow. lol.

You think I should stop doing those game previews? It is a little bit of a hassle to do them.

Haha. I know man. I seriously just made solid contact with the ball and it somehow ended up in the right-field stands. I was pretty stoked at hitting the homer.

lol. Tim > Micah Owings in terms of hitting.

And yeah. It's pretty disappointing, but John Lannan was on all night. I couldn't hit anything until the 9th inning, where I was kind of confused as to why I couldn't score a run.

8-Run 8th Allows Cain To Pick Up 12th Win Of Season

Left: Matt "Dannity" Cain steals a move from the Matrix, as he dodges a ball headed straight towards his noggin | Right: Giants Manager Bruce Bochy looks on as Nick Johnson discards a pitch into the right-field stands

      Game Story
Today's game was a very interesting one. It was exciting right up until the end of the game, even though the Giants won 9 to 4 against the Nationals. All but one run in the game came in the last 3 innings of the game. The Giants took the lead early as Pablo Sandoval homered deep to left right field off of Shairon Martis. That was the only run that Martis would give up in the game. In the 7th inning, the Nationals were up to bat, as they were down 1 to 0 and Matt Cain pitching a strong game. After getting the first two outs in the inning, Matt Cain faced Nick Johnson thinking he would be able to get him out too. Cain fired a curveball down and in to Nick Johnson and Johnson made solid contact and homered off of Cain. The score was 1-1 going into the 8th inning.

The 8th inning was when things got very interesting. The Giants scored 8 runs in the inning and errors committed by the Nationals helped facilitate the Giants offensive barrage. There were 6 hits in the inning and all of them were singles. The big hit came off the bat of Pablo Sandoval, as he hit a single straight through the middle whic hscored both Edgar Renteria and Delmon Young. The Nationals came into the bottom of the 8th inning down 9 to 1. They were able to scrap out a run as Ryan Zimmerman doubled home Cristian Guzman. The Nationals also did get 2 more runs in the 9th inning. Elijah Dukes walked to lead off the 9th inning and Austin Kearns singled. Pinch Hitter Roger Bernardina took the plate and hit a pitch from Osiris Matos deep into center field, which scored both Dukes and Kearns. Bernardina hustled to third and got the triple. Jonathan Sanchez then entered the game for the Giant and ended things without allowing a run, as he struck out Josh Bard and got Cristian Guzman to fly out to end the game.

Giants Pound Out 20 Hits In 7-1 Win Against Rockies

Left: Travis Ishikawa slides home safe after a sacrifice fly by Jesus Guzman | Right: Jason Hirsh throws the ball inaccurately which allows Aaron Rowand to score from third

                      Game Story
The Giants had an offensive explosion in this game, as they pounded out 20 hits against the Rockies. 19 of those 20 hits were singles. The Rockies went up against one of the top pitchers in the NL in Barry Zito, who has been rocking an ERA under 2 for the first time in his career. He was also rocking a record that was over .500, which was a first since he joined the Giants.

The Giants were up from the get-go as they got 3 runs in the first 3 innings. They got 1 more in the 6th inning, 2 more in the 8th, and 1 more in the 9th inning. The Rockies finally put a run on the scoreboard, as pinch hitter Yorvit Torrealba smacked a Barry Zito fastball into the right-field stands. Zito allowed 2 more hits in the inning until he was pulled from the game. Bob Howry came into the game. He allowed a hit that loaded the bases with no outs. He got Garrett Atkins to fly out, but the ball was not hit far enough to score Jose Vidro from 3rd. Brad Hawpe came up to the plate and he grounded into a fielder's choice, which kept the bases loaded with 2 outs, but did not score a run. Ian Stewart took the plate with a chance to make the lead smaller, but Bob Howry struck him out to get out of a bases loaded jam.

Yeah. It was a pretty fun game for me. Not surprising though that I was able to hit that much off their #5 starter. I doubt my success will continue as I go up against Francis and Cook.
