I lul'd at Walter. "I should have been the face of it".

    Riiight.

Real tough loss, at least Schaub did well with the ball; not exceptional, but serviceable. I see CJ is still beasting it up on the ground though, and that's ALWAYS good.

      Kubiak's Corner
Right, Walter...he's a receiver - not a superstar like Andre Johnson. We just didn't utilize all our weapons on offense today. Chris Johnson is becoming a force - and I'm fairly certain he will be an MVP candidate this year with the way he's carrying the football. Now, we need to help unload some of that pressure off him having to hold up the team.

Rookie Quarterback, Stephen McGee (Texas A&M) has been signed for $2.41M, 2 years.

        Gary Kubiak on McGee:
"It was surprising to see him undrafted this year. I think he had a bad combine which nullified any chance he had with some teams. Stephen is a smart player, I think he can challenge Gradkowski for the backup role."

        Texan fan: "Woooo Go Aggies!"

The Inevitable: Yes football fans. Today we will be audience to two of the best running backs in the league. The veteran, Ladanian Tomlinson - and the fearless young gun, Chris Johnson. Each have blazing speed - that, I'm sure we will see. What might not be seen is the fact that both these guys can catch the ball out of the backfield - look for that.

The Urgency: Matt Schaub held firm in the pocket last week - almost too much as he was sacked 6 times last week against the Titans. Gary Kubiak will hope that his QB1 will start finding some receivers in the endzone - or it could be an uphill battle not only for Schaub, but for his running back, Chris Johnson - who has six touchdowns this year.

The Score: 28-27 Chargers. This could be a back and forth kind of game. I think the stars will not dictate this game, but the kickers will. Colt David had his shot last week, he is going to need to make up and become a catalyst to the Texans victory. However, there will be an issue - or controversy better - in this one. Do not forget about what Phillip Rivers can do with a football.

              CHOKE!!!!!!!!
Texans let Henry take over game, lose 28-24

The following is a recorded press conference with Houston Texans' head coach, Gary Kubiak, after the game. Because Matt10 is having template issues, this will be the reporting style until a resolution is found.

Please note that expletives are replaced with the word "eff" or "bs".

              -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reporter1: Coach, was there anything you could say to the guys at in the locker room after this disappointing loss?

Kubiak: What could I say? Everyone knew I was going to rip into them, what in the eff could I have said. This is absolute bs.

R1: Maybe tell them it's going to be okay - we played well against a good team?

Kubiak: Are you serious? Did you not watch the game, son? I'm not going to answer anymore of your questions, let alone take your advice.

Reporter2: So Coach, in all seriousness - what happened? You had the game in your hands, where was the double coverage on Henry - who was an obvious threat?

Kubiak: You want to do my job, son? I know who their threat was, okay? You don't have to tell me that. This was simply a game of missed opportunities. I think its disgusting to think that we were THIS close to winning the effing game.

R2: Is it possible when Colt David missed that 48-yarder just wide, did that ruin the momentum/spirits of the team?

Kubiak: I'm not going to say that. But it didn't help.

R2: Coach - what is going to be the focus now? These are back to back close games that we just don't hold on.

Kubiak: Ya think? We are playing really good football, but today...today it was crap. Just utter bull crap. God made a bull one day - let it crap - and out came the Texans.

              R2/All: (silence, with mixed murmurring)

Kubiak: Is that all the questions?

R2: Is that your way of telling us you quit, Coach?

Kubiak: Do you effing want me to quit, son? You think you can do this job?

R2: Quite frankly, no. But it's good to see that you're passionate about the effin game again.

Kubiak: Lookie here, son - don't talk to me with that tongue, or I'll eff you up!

              I"LL EFF YOU UP!!!!!!!

(.....Kubiak rises out of his chair - glaring at reporter - being held back )

R2: You suck Kubiak! Get out of Houston!

(Kubiak somehow manages to grab a chair...flings it through the room...headed right towards the reporter)

              SMACK!!!!!

              R2: Ahhhck!!

              -------------------end recording-------------------

Chris Henry celebrates one of his many touchdowns. Henry was also the recepient of the game winning touchdown for the Chargers.

Nope - not good. We lead this game the majority of the way. Then as soon as David missed the 48-yarder, things went to shite.

Schaub played extremely well. The interception was a bonk off a defender's head, which deflected to Shawn Merriman. I have the video I need to upload 'cause it's funny. Also have another video of a bizarre fumble.

Chiefs are up next - stay tuned.

"From the time he hits the court, he plays at a competitive level that you rarely see," Popovich says. "He does the exact same things that Kobe (Bryant) does, that Michael Jordan did.

                        Alan Burge, Houston Texans Examiner

Not that big of a deal
If Kubiak disappeared from our organization

I'll be the first one to say it: The Texans would not suffer without Kubiak.

However, could have some kind of resolution been met as a result of Kubiak's meeting with the Texans Board of Directors today, which, according to sources, included a very upset General Manager, Rick Smith.

After the meeting, the head coach had a couple words to say:

"I am deeply ashamed of how I reacted the other day during the post-game conference. It was not meant to go to that level of intensity. I believe I needed to get that frustration out - but I honestly should have waited to take it out against the Chiefs this weekend. Again, it was just a terrible way to represent the team and organization."

What a heart-felt apology. I think I might just as well forget about his Texan insult in which he referred to Bull Crap = Texans.

Yeah, sorry Kubie - you've lost my respect. Maybe if you bring a ring or two back here, I might reconsider. Till then, you're just another transitional phase - I am sure of that.

As for those of you who think Kubiak will stay till the end of the season - or even renegotiate terms - you're LaLa land. I guarantee you that the true Texan fans will not take kindly to Kubiak for long.

You diss a Texan, you diss his momma, his poppa, his granddaddy - and his dog.

You're up a certain creek, Kubiak - enjoy the smell.

Starting running back, Chris Johnson, will miss 4 weeks with shoulder tendinitis - an injury he suffered this past week against the Chargers.

                          Gary Kubiak on Johnson:
                          "Damn."

Matt Schaub on Johnson: "It's unfortunate, again. He is being run into the ground though - I think Ahman (Green) will do just fine, just like he did last year."

Defensive back (nickle), Fred Bennett, is questionable for today's game due to a pinched elbow nerve.

                          Gary Kubiak on Bennett:
                          "This could hurt us."

Kenny Lewis (rookie CB) on Bennett: "This injury is going to be chance to show what I'm made of."

The Time is Now: Controversy spread like wildfire - but was quickly extinguished - it is time to put everything behind and focus on the task at hand. Kubiak and the Texans will need to put a stamp on this game. They have to execute the gameplan to the MAX. No more playing around.

The Following: Texans fans are passionate - could they show some more enthusiasm and really get in the head of the Chiefs players today? Damon Huard is a veteran quarterback, surprisingly he is the starter for the team considering Brodie Croyle is healthy. The Texans fans need to get nasty today - there has to be some kind of belief system building up. Yes, the following for Kubiak is dwindling - but will the smoke clear before the season begins to dissapear before Kubiak does?

The Score: 41-10 Texans. Ahman Green has a nack for busting out big runs in big games. This is a game the Texans could use him the most. I think we could see records being broken today. I think Schaub is going to play as great as he did last week - and never look back. The defense has been playing great for the Texans - but hopefully the passing defense will tighten it up considering they gave up some big numbers last week.
