I hope you meet Sidney Crosby in a store, and then someone blows up the store.

First Day Back
"And now starting at wide receiver...number 15, junior Ethan Woy!"
I ran out of the tunnel our cheerleaders and band formed to the roar of a packed crowd. I know, kind of weird how we have player introductions for a high school team, but our school likes the attention it brings. The crowd was rockin' for the opening game of the season, surprisingly. I guess they don't remember that we went 0-10 last year, or maybe there's more fans in the stands because they want to see me. Anyways, after the rest of the player introductions and the coin toss, I jogged out onto the field once Zach was tackled on the kickoff return.
"500 Gun, Seattle on 2. Ready? Break!"
We broke out of the huddle into our new look, four wideout shotgun set. I lined up against this small cornerback who looked like this was his first varsity game. He looked really nervous but didn't talk like it at all. Looks like he did some sort of scouting report on me.
"That collarbone's probably still fragile Woy. I can't wait to break it in half and end your football career."
"And I can't wait to break your hopes of covering me on this first drive."
"RED! SET! GO, GO!"
I jumped out of my stance and broke into a slant route. Bradley hit me in stride and I threw the cocky young cornerback off of me with a stiff arm before being wrapped up by the safety after a gain of 11.
"Thought you said you would break my collarbone? Looks like the only thing I did was break a hole in your defense."
"Check Houston, Houston! GO!"
Out of the no-huddle, Bradley checked to a Houston route which in our offense means a hitch. He threw a bullet over to me with that same cornerback closing in on me. I wasn't looking at him but I could probably say he was licking his lips cause he had the perfect opportunity to unleash a huge hit on me. As soon as I got my hands on the ball, I heard the footsteps coming. So I brought the ball into my chest and spun to the outside, completely avoiding his tackle attempt. I dashed to the outside and was knocked out of bounds before a 23 yard gain.
"500 Gun, San Francisco. Ready? Break!"
"Brad!"
"What Ethan?"
"I got this corner shitting himself over here. He's talking all sorts of trash and can't back it up. Give me this touchdown to shut him up."
"Alright."
"Hey yo, sorry for making you look like a fool last play."
"Shut up, I got you this time Woy."
"RED, SET, GO!"
I took off down the field on a fade route and had a step on the same cornerback. Brad threw it deep, not under-thrown like last year, and it fell right into my hands as I jogged right into the endzone. I tossed the ball to the ref and went to go celebrate with my teammates. As I was jogging back, I passed the corner who I beat the entire drive. He looked like he was going to punch me when I said...
"You were going to break my collarbone again? Looks like the only thing that's broken is your heart."
We ended up dominating in the opener, winning 35-0. I caught seven passes for over 100 yards and two touchdowns. Not a bad first day back, right? With the offense we showed, it looks like we could make a long run into playoffs...Last edited by Woy; 07-20-2009, 07:30 PM.

Losing Brings Out The Worst In People
"And with the horn sounding, the Everett Warriors drop their seventh straight game, losing to the Scarlet Dragons of Central, 42-21. Once again the bright spot on this team was junior Ethan Woy. He brought in six passes for over 100 yards and a score, but it wasn't enough..."
If there's one thing puts me down in the dumps, it's losing. I hate it. I can't sleep. I won't talk to anyone. I just sit in a corner with my head dropped, staring at the floor for minutes, sometimes hours. I'll replay the entire game in my mind, wondering what I could have done better to help my team win. Even if I had 10 plus catches, with over 200 yards and four touchdowns, I'd still think what I could have done better.
I sat on the bench for a good half an hour before walking up to the locker room to finally get out of my pads. When I opened the door, I could hear yelling and screaming by some of the seniors. I couldn't stand this group of seniors - they didn't give a shit whether we won or lost and didn't put their whole hearted effort into anything. There were exceptations of course, but for the most part, the class sucked. As soon as I threw my shoulder pads off, I heard my name come up in conversation...
"We're all here forgetting about the game and his ass is still sitting on the bench out on the field balling. He doesn't care about the team at all, he only cares about his own stats. He's a..."
"I'm a what? A sore loser? I don't care about the team? At least I give a fuck about whether we win or lose! At least I give a fuck during practice! At least I play my heart and don't take plays off! You're fucking six four and weigh over 250 and yet you have defensive ends skinner than me overpowering you. You're pathetic."
I pissed him off with that last comment. He clenched his fists and lunged right at me. He was throwing punches left and right but I blocked most of them and then I gave him a right hook to his jaw. He fell right over and grabbed the injured area. I started getting up and was brushing my self off when...
