As for the update last night, I went out after work so yeah. I'm going to split the update into two smaller updates so one coming up within the hour and the other after work.

Lunch, Volleyball, and Transfers

I could tell we were going to make some noise after the first week of camp. Everyone was working hard and was showing tons of confidence. After a light practice on Friday, Coach pulled me into his office to talk.

"Hey Ethan, please sit down."

"Sure, what's up Coach?"

"Okay, well you know Bedford Gazette is going around to the different high schools next week for media day, right?"

"Yeah Coach, I'm aware."

"Okay, well you're one of the captains so you'll be given the opportunity to speak."

"Nice. What's the catch?"

"You know me too well. I'm guessing that some of the reporters might ask about the whole incident last year."

"Probably."

"Anyways, I don't want you to make a big deal out of it. Just say 'no comment' or something in that nature. Got it?"

"Yeah, I gotcha Coach."

"Thanks Ethan. Now go get some lunch."

I grabbed my lunch out of my cooler and went out to the hallway with my friends to eat. The seniors sit in the hallway for one reason...volleyball camp.

"And this is why I love volleyball. Hot girls in tight spandex shorts."

"Shut up Bill, you know you don't have a chance in hell with any of them."

"Man, see if you're invited to the next kegger I host."

"Damn, look at Britt! She's gotten a lot hotter over the summer."

"And so has Dena, wow!"

"What's going on fellas?"

"Watching my favorite sport in the world and making fun of Bill."

"When don't we make fun of Bill? Haha."

"Haha, ya'll are just haters."

"What did Coach want you for?"

"Basically not to cause any controversy at media day next week."

"Ethan not causing controversy? Haha, yeah right."

"We'll see, we'll see."

"Damn, I've never seen her before. She looks great from the back."

Everyone moved closer to the door and we were trying to find who John pointed out.

"Who is it John?"

"Brunette. Beside Brandi."

They were doing some sort of spiking drill and this new girl was putting on a show. She had an incredible body and was putting it to good use spiking assist after assist.

"I wish she'd turn around so I could see her face."

The volleyball coach came by and shut the gym doors, blocking our lunch entertainment for the day.

"Sorry guys, volleyball practice is private to the public."

I was very intrigued on who the new volleyball chick was. Something about her just seemed familar.

"You guys better stop horsing around and get your asses back in the lockerroom before you're causing the whole team to do hills till you puke!"

"Let's go guys. I wanna meet that new chick before I die."

"Let it go Bill, she's not gonna want you."

We all laughed and walked back to the lockerroom.

"Haha yeah, I suppose. That one that walked in late looked pretty familar for some reason."

"Was he the tall one?"

"Yeah, who is that?"

Media Day Madness

Finally. The day that signals the start of another great high school football season in Bedford County; media day. I was looking forward to it more than anyone for two reasons - no practice for the seniors and also I got to express my feelings to the media.

Our 16 seniors lined up across eight tables on the football field as the reporters from the Bedford Gazette started to crowd around us and threw out questions. Some seniors only got one question, most of the starters got three. I was the last player to get asked questions and I ended up getting more than anyone.

"Bill Creps here. Ethan, what do you think is your team's biggest strength this year?"

"It's definitely our experience. We've been through it all the last two years...well not me sophomore year because of my collarbone, but anyways. 0-10 and 2-8 are definitely not what the Class of 2009 wants to leave in the record books. We want to leave a mark and show that Everett football is still one of the best programs in the county."

"Josh Drake here. Ethan, have any schools been looking at you to play after this year?"

"Yeah, there's been a few schools that have contacted me to join them next fall. I'm not sure if my page is on Rivals or Scout yet, but I have offers from mainly schools on the east coast. Penn State, Pittsburgh, Temple, Syracuse, Maryland, Rutgers are just some of the schools. Oh, and Michigan as well."

"Greg Mentemo here. Ethan, how do you think Everett will fare in league play this year?"

"The ICC is tough this year - there are many great times. However - I know a lot of the folks around here won't agree with this - but we should win it this year. Our goals are simple: ICC championship, District 5 championship, and a 10-0 regular season. Laugh if you want, but we will get all these goals accomplished."

"Bob Norris here. Ethan, is team chemistry good this year? Last year it seemed like a lot of your team wasn't on the same page."

"Well, last year's group was...never mind. Yeah, chemistry is great this year. Our class has always been a tight-knit group; we hang out together, eat team dinners together, etc. Team chemistry will not be a problem, at all."

"Chris Leonard here. Ethan, what got you suspended last year?"

I paused for a second. I wanted to blow up on the guy and on last year's senior class, but I couldn't.

"No comment."

"What? Are you scared to tell us?"

"I just don't think it's right to talk about now."

"Oh, come on kid. Let it all out."

He was obviously trying to piss me off, and everyone there could see it. Chris looked like a guy that just graduated college or was there on internship. Coach stepped in before I blew a handle.

"Hey Bill, you wanna get the individual pictures now?"

"Yeah sure Tom."

They started taking all the letterwinners close-up pictures for the fall sports preview and such. Of course guess who was going to take my picture?

"You trying to piss me off, huh?"

"Is it working kid?"

"Yeah it is. I'm just not gonna let that show this year."

"Whatever, I doubt it. You're gonna cause more controversy than ever."

"Just take the damn picture."

"Alright, alright. Smile, cause you're not going to smile when Tussey kicks your ass this year."

"Oh, so you're from there? Figures, you look like one of those slobs."

"Yeah, and I know you'll lose that game. I got money riding on it."

"We'll see bum."

He stared me down for a little bit and then walked off to the rest of his reporters group.

Something tells me that Tussey's going to pull some shit to win that game, whatever it may take...

Tussey hires Sidney Crosby to occupy you so you're all tired of hangin out with Sid the night before the game. After he drops you off, his car gets stuck on train tracks and smashed by an on-coming train. The death of your beloved "Sid the Kid" makes you so insane and you go out and dominate Tussey and the rest of your games.

My plan was for Sid the Kid to find out he has a year of HS eligibility left, transfer to Everett, start at quarterback, put up gaudy numbers throwing to me and become a stud in college football like he is in hockey. Just to torment Shwayzed. ;)

I haven't decided if I'm going to update before work or afterwards yet.

Stop complaining Woy, lol ;) I've been away for the past couple days, and you still have like 100000000 posts from your million followers, lol. (No one reads Justice For All lol, guess I'll just have to finish season one to get them interested ;) ...and we'll see if the release of NCAA 10 sparks some more interest!)


Good stuff as always Woy, and I have a prediction:

Tussey's secret weapon is... Sidney Crosby. Crosby will use his baby-face to piss Ethan off, making him go on to wreck Tussey and kill that annoying little punk reporter... but when he pulls out his gun, he accidentally misses and shoots Ovechkin who is sitting in the crowd! Because of this, Crosby goes on to win 10 more MVPs and 15 Stanley Cups :D

Thanks Ian, and it just seemed like I didn't get as many comments as usual. Plus I thought that update in the hallway was one of the best I written but maybe others didn't think so, lol.

Woy did any of this really happen or is it just off the top of your head and your going to use the real game results and such?

Some of this is true, yes. The main character is actually me, and has sort of the same personality as me IRL. I don't really plan these updates out - I have a main idea about the overall storylines and such - but I'll update whatever comes to mind. Usually work gives me time to think about future updates.

Yes, I will be using NCAA 10 for the games in this. Whether it will be in Road to Glory or dynasty will remain to be seen. Depends if Road to Glory is as easy as CL mode was last year.

Thanks Saints, and that's how the rivalry is in real life. One of the biggest small-school rivalries in the state, more so in basketball, but we both hate each other.
