    Brandon Jennings

Jennings works out with the Pacers but appears to be out of drafting range

PG Brandon Jennings worked out with the Pacers today , sparking romours that Jennings may be the Pacers main target in the draft

Jennings however was`nt so convinced , when asked what kind of range he is expecing to be picked in he replied with "four through eight." . Jennings also added "I worked out here just in case. You never know what's going to happen in the draft".

Many Pacer fans and experts seem to prefer Jeff Teague and Jonny Flynn if the Pacers were to choose a point guard . According to most sources Jennings was impressive yet didnt look 100% commited to the workout , clearly thinking that he isint going to be taken as low as 13 in the upcoming draft .

    Quick Info:

Jennings was the national high school player of the year in 2007-08, averaging 35.5 points, 6.8 assists and 3.2 steals at Oak Hill Academy. He signed with Arizona but encountered admissions difficulties and opted to take the unprecedented step of turning pro in Europe instead, signing with Lottomatica Roma (Italy).

Larry Bird is historiclly not intrested in teeneage kids in terms of drafting but Jennings euro league experince could hold him in good position with the Pacers front office .

Jennings had very modest stats in the euro league posting 7.6 Points and 1.6 Assits per game.

    The Take on Jennings

Jennings is said to be a younger version of TJ Ford but with more athleticism while he can get the crowd going with a spectacular play and has obvious raw talent he often flatters to deceive

Really? I wasn't aware there wasn't a need for skilled 7-footers in the NBA.

                this chise looks sick already
"From the time he hits the court, he plays at a competitive level that you rarely see," Popovich says. "He does the exact same things that Kobe (Bryant) does, that Michael Jordan did.

Speaking of indy 500, when you get out and push the ball in transition hard, (which will happen a lot with T.J. Ford), the sound effect of cars racing by goes off at the Conseco in 2k9. It's dope!

Yeah, I loved it as well. Made you want to push the break often and race the opponents back down the other side of the court.

ACC Rivals work out for the Pacers

                        Tyler Hansbrough

Despite having an impeccble college record Tyler Hansbrough has received harsh words from "draft experts" in the past few weeks. Many believe that the biggest knock on Hans` is his ability to defend more athletic guys of similar stature . Some NBA "experts" also think that the former ACC star isint skilled enough to play SF and does not have the athletic ability to defend some of the leagues more talented Power Forwards.
Though reports from other workouts, including the NBA Draft Combine, indicate he's answered many of the questions about his athleticism, it's obviously still a sore subject for the North Carolina star.

When asked why there was skepticism about his prospects, Hansbrough replied, "It's just because I'm a national champion, I'm pretty good and I was a former player of the year. I'm pretty good. I'm not a perfect player. If they find a perfect player, I guess they can criticize me because there is no perfect player."

Hansbrough has found himself on somewhat of a rise in draft stocks however , it was only 2weeks ago that ESPN had him as a late first/early 2nd prospect . It now seems like the former UNC star is a mid 1st prospect and could even go as high as 10-15.

When asked about the possibility of being chosen by the Pacers Hansbrough responded with "That's what I'm here for," he said. "That's why I chose the Pacers to come out and work out for. I think I'd fit in really good and I'd add a lot of help, power forward-wise."

                        Gerald Henderson

The second player the Pacers worked out today was former Duke Player Gerald Henderson . Many mock drafts have linked Henderson to the Pacers because of the inevitable loss of Marquis Daniels and Stephen Graham to free agency . When asked about the Pacers Henderson responded in a positive manner .... "It's a team I'd love to play for,". "They have a fast-paced kind of motion offense, which I think I'd do really well in. So this is a place I'd definitely love to play."

                        Family Connections

Henderson`s father who played 13 years in the NBA at the point guard position was an ex-teammate of Larry Bird . It is no secret that Bird has spoken to Henderson`s father about the possibility of drafting his son .

Henderson`s last words for the Pacers fans were about his attitude , "I'm going to play hard every day,"Every game, every practice, I'm going to bring it."

I dunno why people doubt Hansbrough

Maynor works out with the Pacers

Today was Eric Maynor`s turn to work out with the Pacers . Maynor offers an interesting contrast to yesterdays player Brandon Jennings in that he is a proven four-year college performer who carried his program to national prominence. The 6 foot 3 , 165 pound guard appeared to impress all the scouts at todays workout

When asked if he was "NBA Ready" Maynor replied with ..."I'm mature and I'm ready," he said. "I'm NBA-ready. I think, coming out of school four years, I learned a lot." However Maynor did touch on his dislike for the grueling pre-draft process , "It's a dream of mine to play in the NBA," he said, "but one thing that's not a dream to do is ride in small planes and go from city to city and as soon as you get off (the plane), you've got to go work out.

"But that's the price you've got to pay if you want to be a pro."

                            Quick College Bio

Maynor is a two-time Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year was a big-game standout, scoring 21 against UCLA in the NCAA Tournament this past March and hitting the game-winning jumper to beat Duke in the first round his sophomore year. Many experts think that this College expericne could elevate his position in the draft .

                                Pacer Fans want Tyler Hansbrough

With just one day to go before the NBA Draft , 35% of Pacer fans voted to say that they want the Pacers to select Power Forward Tyler Hansbrough . How quick things have changed down in Indiana , only a week ago the general feeling was that Blair was everybodys man . The fans , the backroom guys and the coaches choice . In second place in the fans vote was Blair himself with 19% of the votes followed up by Brandon Jennings with 18% . The other choices were Gerald Henderson (16%) , Eric Maynor (10%) and Ty Lawson (2%) . Another guy who seems to be on the Pacers radar is point guard Johnny Flynn , the fans however think that the ex Syracuse star is too similar to TJ Ford .
