CB4 Limited To 23 Minutes Of Play Due To Foul Trouble; Pacers Win 3rd Straight

    Starting Lineups:
Andre Miller (80) PG (87) Jose Calderon
Jamal Crawford (81) SG (83) James Harden
Danny Granger (90) SF (76) Jason Kapono
Rasheed Wallace (85) PF (77) Leon Powe
    Chris Kaman (89) C (91) Chris Bosh

    (41-27) 106 vs 98 (29-37)

There is brave, and then there is foolish. Raptors rookie James Harden takes it right at Danny Granger, only to have it swatted back.

    Top Performers:
    Player Of The Game:

    Danny Granger

    Quote Of The Game:
"We might've only shot 41% from the field tonight but when our guys can get to the line as often as they did and make the opportunities count, it makes up for a dismal shooting performance. We shot 26-28 from the line tonight, 40-45 from the line against the Grizzlies a couple of nights ago. If we can have similar success getting to the line and forcing guys into foul trouble against Dwight Howard and the Magic in our next game, that would put us in a great position to gain some ground in the standings." - Pacers GM Larry Bird

With this last win, I'm now a game behind the Heat and 2 games behind the Magic. I really need to get out of the 3rd spot. The Cavs look almost deadlocked at 6th seed (2.5 games behind Celts, 3 games ahead of Sixers) and I'd hate to run into them in the 1st round, despite me leading the season series 2-1. :couch:

Free-Throw Line All Sorts Of Charitable For The Pacers

Free-throw shooting is considered to be one aspect of your game that an opponent can control. If you're a good free throw shooting, you would think the opposing team would foul less.

However, in the Pacers last two games, against the Grizzlies and Raptors, they have taken 73 total free throw attempts and connected on 66 of them. Do the math, and that's an almost awe-inspiring 90% success rate from the charity stripe.

In the latest team rankings report, the Pacers are #1 in the league in free throw shooting percentage at 81% on the season, and 2nd only to the Lakers in points per game, averaging close to 109 a game.

Here's an interesting fact. Out of the top 10 ranked teams as far as free throw percentages go this season, all 10 of them average more than 100 points a game. While that doesn't always automatically translate into wins, there is obviously a connection between scoring a lot of points and shooting a good percentage from the charity stripe.

The importance of free throws is sometimes very much underestimated; games have been known to be decided on them, especially when the score is close. Teams who could have sealed the game on free throws can finish with a narrow win or even a loss because of failure behind the line.

Let's just hope the stripe can continue to be as "charitable" as it has been as of late as the Pacers come into the final playoff stretch of the 2010 season.

Magic Hand Pacers Demoralizing Loss In Spite Of Granger's Triple Double

                    Starting Lineups:
Andre Miller (80) PG (85) Jameer Nelson
Jamal Crawford (81) SG (80) Courtney Lee
Danny Granger (90) SF (86) Hedo Turkoglu
Rasheed Wallace (85) PF (83) Rashard Lewis
                    Chris Kaman (89) C (97) Dwight Howard

                    (42-27) 114 vs 122 (43-24)

Danny Granger pulled his weight in this matchup, tallying up a triple double with 32 points. Unforunately, it was the Pacers who lost.

                    Quote Of The Game:
"Sometimes you play the best you can and don't get the results you want. They got a huge boost from Mickael and Al-Farouq off the bench. We didn't execute as well as we had been doing so in the past couple of games and it showed out there." Danny Granger

Man, that game was bullshit. Maybe I lost because I'm about to pass out the second I hit my bed. Pietrus is fucking bullshit!

Rofl, yeah. I was half asleep posting that update up. Fixed. THanks for pointing it out.

Yeah, Pietrus killed me. Clogged passing lanes and knocked down big shot after big shot.
