    DGZ,

I really liked your draft class. CJ Spiller and Boo Robinson especially. Robinson is another big body you can put on that line to create a really nice rotation (permitting you have good sub in/out sliders). Ryan Moya looks like he'll add some more athleticism to the tight end position. Coffman and Moya can act as the pass-catchers while Manumaleuna can serve as the muscle.

I was shocked to see the release of Cedric Benson, but, I guess with Bernard Scott and CJ Spiller arriving it may have been time to move on. Really looking forward to seeing what happens with the Bengals defense in 2010. You have really added some talent on that side of the ball. Looking forward to the pre-season.
Maddon & Friedman: Pissing off the AL East since 2008

      Thanks man...

Yeah it was a tough decision to let Benson go. I wanted to be loyal to him since he got me my first win last year but there was just no way I could justify having him on the roster any longer at that salary plus he wouldn't work well with the Martz system.

RB Brian Leonard also hopes to earn a spot on the final 48-man roster but is considered to be on the bubble going into camp.

Preseason Game 1, Year 2: Buffalo Bills (0-0) at Cincinnati Bengals (0-0)

Note: The following is a brief summary of the Bengals' August 14, 2010 preseason game vs Buffalo. Normal full-scale reporting will be reinstituted at the start of the 2010 regular season.

                    14 -- 1-0
                    11 -- 0-1

Summary: Bengals QB Jordan Palmer led a late rally but in the end the Bengals fell short 14-11 in their 2010 preseason opener. Bills rookie second round pick CB Brian Jackson's interception on Palmer's desperation heave with under 20 seconds to go put the game away for the Bills.

Palmer, who completed 18 of 28 passes for 268 yards and a touchdown, looked very comfortable in the Bengals' new offensive system under head coach Mike Martz. His 80 yard touchdown pass to rookie TE Ryan Moya put an exclamation point on a great performance with just under 9 minutes to go.

Cincinnati's running backs had a tough time finding running lanes however RB Jerome Harrison led the team in rushing with 27 yards. Rookie RB C.J. Spiller only managed to gain 10 yards on 9 carries however his 77 receiving yards helped cap a solid day.

Both of Buffalo's touchdowns came following Cincinnati turnovers. Rookie PR Javier Arenas' first quarter fumble on a punt return following a Bills three and out to open the game resulted in a Marshawn Lynch touchdown a few plays later.

In the second half, a third quarter Palmer fumble resulted in a 2-yard touchdown run by Bills RB Fred Jackson after a short drive.

The Bengals (0-1) will face the Saints (0-1) next week at home.

Yep...That's mostly from the Laveranues Coles trade in week 6 of last year.

That was the one thing I was disappointed with from the outing.

I'm pretty excited about the defense though. They looked great.

Jordan and Carson played well. Looks like the QB position may be a little more stable this season if Carson goes down with an injury.

The running game was nothing to write home about. Looks like Spiller and Scott struggled. Harrison wasn't bad though. Spiller definitely made his mark catching the ball though. I guess he may be like a Faulk-clone.

Any news on the injury to Mays? Also, how are you subbing to get players reps? I have finally just decided to do formation subs. Seems like it is the only way to have a true platoon system.
