Tigers Winning Streak Snapped At 4, Drop Home Contest To Bombers

    (10-9) @ (14-5)

Gary Sheffield clinches his midsection after being hit by a Phil Hughes pitch.

The Tigers were on the losing end of a 6-2 score tonight, as the Yankees won before 34,100 fans at Comerica Park. Clete Thomas knocked in 1 run off a sacrifice fly and went 2 for 3 to provide some offense for the Tigers. Otherwise, the Tigers offense was relatively quiet, leaving runners in scoring position in more innings than one. Dontrelle Willis (1-1) was the starting, and losing pitcher, allowing 5 runs and 10 hits in his 5 and two thirds innings. The series continues tomorrow night, as the Yankees send ace C.C. Sabathia (2-1, 3.81 ERA) to the mound against Justin Verlander (1-2, 3.00) and the Tigers. Carlos Guillen hopes to add to his 18 game hitting streak.

I'm calling BS now, this game has gotten it's first unrealistic situation. Sheffield will come after the bigger Fausto Carmona for hitting him but not a nobody like Phil Hughes?! Garbage....

I hate those 1-0 wins because I'm always afraid the other team is going to tie it and win.

I love the diversity in your games. Some games are toppled with runs and others are pitching duels. It creates great realism in this chise. Makes me want my PS3 back.

Haha, thanks dude. It's definitely more fun with the games varying like this.

                            1. Get PS3 back.
                            2. Get The Show.

Tell me about it. Texeira hit a 2 out triple in one of the late innings and I was so relieved to get out of that inning without them scoring. lol.

Tell me about it. He's rediculous. I'm considering switching him and Magglio up in the lineup. Basically have Magglio hitting 6th and Guillen 3rd. I think I'd be able to drive in more runs considering I'm hitting better with Guillen. Granderson and Polanco seem like they get stranded so often. But then again, considering my understanding of baseball strategy is somewhat limited, not sure if that's the best thing to do. lol.

You can switch them up. A lot of managers don't do it if they're still winning. Like Carlos Gomez was leading off for the Twins last year and he was doing horrible, but they were on a pretty good win streak at one point so they didn't move him until after the streak ended.

Hmm, I guess it's something I'll have to think about. I'm not exactly on a streak or anything.
