July 15th, 2010 - Head Coach Michael London has hired former NFL head coach, Jon Gruden, as this year's quarterbacks coach.
London on Gruden: "He has an incredible eye for the game. He dissects plays, and brings in a completely different perspective than most coaches. I know the team will listen to a man like Jon."
Gruden on his hiring: "It's a privelege to be part of a program like Virginia. I know we can turn this football program around in no time."
Recruiting Rules: Recruits must be of school's prestige at all cost, only one (1) above average recruit is allowed to be offered scholarship. ex. UVA is 3 star, can only sign one 5 star recruit - and two 4 star - the rest must be 3 stars.
Shaking Things Up Hoos' 2011 schedule has face lift
Charlottesville, VA -- The first game of the season against the FCS team, the Richmond Spiders was bounced out by Michael London and company as soon as the NCAA gave approval for a custom schedule. London had previously stated that this year would be the most challenging - and the newly hired coach has delivered by replacing the Spiders with a top 25 team in Cincinnati.
"The best way to get better is to challenge yourself," states London, "We felt this was the best avenue - that's what this season is about. After all, I'm not going to kid around and say this is not a rebuilding season - it is. There is a lot of left over mentalities from last year that could distract the players - I won't have it this year."
Along with first week change, the original open date of September 18th was quickly filled in to host SMU - a truly up and coming program out of Dallas. The reason for the change?
"I want the guys beaming to play another week after we beat down the Trojans."
Aggressive scheduling strategy - but of course London needs to make an impact immediately into this supposed rebuilding program, let's hope it pays off.
The Men, the Job London's Cavaliers ready to battle
Charlottesville, VA -- Only two weeks away from the opening game in Cincinnati, and Michael London has finalized the 2011 Cavaliers roster.
Position battles are not as apparent, which made it easy for London to set up the roster, however don't be surprised to see the depth to change after the Cincinnati game, for example Mark Verica's spot could be easily grabbed by either freshman Ross Metheny or Michael Strauss.

Week 1 Pregame Grand debut for London and 2011 Hoos
Cincinnati, OH -- The day has come. Game time. All the pregame ceremonies are in play, the crowd booing the away team, some of them laughing. No injuries to not for either side, each team brings in some hard hitters on defense, but it will be the offense that takes over this game. Expect a big score, possibly lop-sided.
