I'm looking into a trade with the Rangers for Michael Young. They went 4-18 in May. Obviously Young is on a lengthy 5 year contract at about 8 mill a year. I wouldn't mind taking it on. They also have a 3B prospect in Triple A named Esteban German who is killing it right now batting .313 and is hot, which I would think could make Young expendable.

As of right now, the deal is looking like this.

    Marcus Thames/Ramon Santiago

    for

    Michael Young

Matt Treanor is actually an upgrade for them at C (in game rating wise) so I wouldn't mind adding him to the deal and maybe add another scrub on their end. The interest bar is full from them and they accept the trade. Something just doesn't feel right though. How can I make this more realistic and beneficial to them in a rebuilding effort. My limited baseball knowledge having self needs help~! lol

Well, the main thing I would say is that the Rangers have two young studs at catcher in Saltalamacchia (sp?) and Teagarden, so they have talent. But, giving them a veteran catcher makes sense, IMO, to help out the young guys and step in if they can't get it done. Thames would be a nice addition for any team, and the Rangers love power, but they have good OF depth already and they also have a DH in Blalock. He would be a good 4th OF and a good bat off the bench, though.

If you have any pitching prospects you can give up, that would make it much more realistic. The Rangers seemingly always are short on pitching so they definitely need to stock up.

          Hmm

          Amando Galarraga + Ramon Santiago

          for

          Michael Young

Galarraga has actually become my least favorite starting pitcher. It would allow me to move my other guys up in the rotation then possibly move Edwin Jackson or Zach Miner into the starting rotation. He'd end up becoming their ace. rofl.

Sounds fair to me. Galarraga is a legit #2 or #3 so he's valuable and Santiago is a good vet. I say go for it.

ight im 10-19 with the O's in my chise and i sat Cesar Izturis (the original starting SS) on the bench cuz he can't hit and i been startin Robert Andino and he's been hitting and playing great defense. I'm looking to trade Izturis for some relief pitching and a young shortstop to back up Andino. any ideas?

Izturis isn't much, so don't be expecting a ton. Maybe a Daniel Ray-Herrera from Cincinnati or a decent RP from Boston...they're looking for SS help.

Jack Wilson is a fucking beast defensively. I could never hit with him though.

                              Magglio/Thames + Matt Treanor

                              lawl.

Dusty Ryan > Matt imo and dusty's in triple A and 24.

Yeah, I don't know about much more than the Tigers. lol

I've had Marcus Thames and Matt Treanor on the trade block for a while now and finally got an offer. From the Marlins.

                                They offered me

                                RP Logan Kensing
3B Matt Dominguez (Prospect, who's doing really well on their AAA team.)

                                for

                                Marcus Thames
                                Matt Treanor

I really don't need another middle reliever (rincon, perry and seay are holding their own) and I'm not sold on getting another prospect.

However, they do have Chris Volstad on their block as well who's rating is the exact same as Kensing's. He's actually 1-4 so far in my chise.

How does Thames and Traenor for Volstad sound? They get a power bat in Thames and a solid catcher in Traenor.

I dunno, looking for opinions/advice. You guys know I'm not the most fluent in baseball so help a brotha out.

Volstad would likely become a long reliever for me until he can prove he can hang. 1-4 so far isn't cutting it. I don't remember what his ERA was because I'm at work. Just for sake of argument, I also have Magglio on the trade block and he's hitting .285 with like 6 HR/20 RBI a week or so into May.
