    Game of the Week
    #16 Nebraska (8-1) at #10 Oklahoma (7-1)

Chris: We are coming to you from Norman, Oklahoma where the Sooners will face off against Nebraska. We'll get to our predictions in a second. There are some other games that are on tap for this Saturday that look intriguing. First, is TCU and UNLV. TCU will put their 24 game winning streak on the line against a surprising 7-2 UNLV team. Do you guys think that puts the Horned Frogs on upset alert? Remember, this is a Horned Frogs team that beat the Trojans in the Rose Bowl last year.

Kirk: Maybe but TCU has been able to find a way to win these games. I don't think UNLV can win this one. TCU is rolling through the competition this year.

Lee: TCU will win again behind the play of their Heisman contending QB Andy Dalton. He is playing lights out. They crash the BCS again.

Chris: Well, that leaves us to talk about an intriguing Pac-10 matchup.

Lee: Do we have to talk about the Pac-10 again? I mean does it even matter? USC has this conference wrapped up.

Chris: Well, Oregon State did almost knock off USC last week but now they face No. 11 Arizona State Sun Devils in Corvallis. ASU's only loss came against USC and don't forget about their win over Georgia.

Kirk: ASU is definitely on upset alert today but OSU is just too inconsistent to pull this off. I think it will be close but ASU QB Steve Stratton will continue to impress today.

Lee: Yeah...Oregon State looked solid last week but you never know what you're gonna get from this team. I think they come out flat and lose big to ASU.

Chris: Well, that leaves the game we have here. This is a pretty good Big-12 rivalry but has not had the same importance in recent years. But it does today. Both of these teams come into the game with prolific scoring offenses as Nebraska is second and Oklahoma is third. And it looks like Oklahoma will be healthy on offense again. Erin Andrews with more on that.

Erin: That's right Chris. It appears that OU QB Landry Jones has recovered from his broken collar bone and should be able to play today. Also, sophomore WR Billy Ball should be able to play also. He has been suffering from turf toe. That will make a potent offense even more potent. Back to you guys.

Chris: Thanks Erin. Well, it's time for the predictions. Who do you guys got today?

Kirk: Nebraska has been winning games mainly by leading the nation in turnover differential. They have a crazy plus-22 turnover margin. That will win you most games. But this Sooner team doesn't turnover the ball either and gets plenty of turnovers of their own. I look for a healthy OU offense to be too much for the 'Huskers and that is why I'm going with Oklahoma to win a close game. (Crowd cheers.)

Lee: Nebraska's offense is as good as advertised. They should do well but the Sooners have too many playmakers on both sides of the ball. I'm looking for a shootout today. I agree with you. It will be a very close game but...(Lee puts on a Schooner hat as the crowd cheers.) I'm going with the Sooners to win. Go Sooners!

#11 Arizona State (7-1) at Oregon State (4-4)

Corvallis, OR - Oregon State is in danger of falling below .500 after a heartbreaking loss against the Trojans. Now they would face another top 25 team in No. 11 Arizona State in Corvallis. The Sun Devils have been better than expected as they were able to knock off Georgia in Athens and their only loss came against undefeated No. 3 USC in a close loss. It is November in the Willamette Valley so the temperature was 33 degrees at game-time. This was shaping up to be a trap game for the Sun Devils.

The OSU offense started off miserably as QB Bryan Rossner was sacked twice in a row on their first two opening plays, leading to a three-and-out. Arizona State was able to score rather quickly as ASU HB#30 punched it in the endzone from four yards out to put the Sun Devils on top 7-0. The next possession for the Beavers ended even worse as Rossner was pressured again and threw an unwise pass that was picked off by AUS CB#27 which was returned to the OSU 6-yard line. It did not take long for ASU QB Steve Stratton to hook up with his TE for a 1-yard touchdown pass to put ASU up 14-0 early.

ASU QB Steve Stratton hooks up with his TE for a 1-yard touchdown.

As the second quarter got underway, the Beaver offense finally got going. Rossner finished off a 14 play, 71-yard drive by hitting TE Gabe Miller along the side line of the endzone from four yards out to put the Beavers on the board, down 14-7.

OSU TE Gabe Miller makes a nice touchdown catch along the sideline.

The Sun Devils moved right back into the red zone but the Beavers' defense held, forcing an ASU 27-yard field goal to give the Sun Devils a 17-7 lead. The Beavers were forced to punt on the ensuing possession but it was perfect punt of 50-yards, pinned at the ASU 1-yard line. ASU remained aggressive despite the terrible field position, and Stratton made a huge mistake as OSU true freshman CB Mike Mayes made a great interception, snatching the ball from WR Kerry Taylor's hands.

Mayes' turnover set the Beavers up inside the red zone where Rossner found TE Gabe Miller on a playaction rollout for an 8-yard touchdown. It was the second time in the first half that the pair had hooked up for a touchdown and it cut ASU's lead to 17-14.

OSU QB Bryan Rossner hooks up with TE Gabe Miller for both players' second touchdown.

Arizona State would attempt to get a last-minute score at the end of the half but Stratton ended up throwing a prayer that was easily picked off by OSU SS Cameron Collins sending both teams into the locker rooms for halftime.

When Oregon State got the ball in the third quarter, Rossner threw a short dump off pass to HB Marvin Quinn, who made a spin move, leaving defenders behind, then proceeded to juke another defender, and took off all the way to the house for an 88-yard touchdown reception leaping across the goalline, igniting Reser Stadium in a frenzy, and giving the Beavers the 21-17 lead.

OSU HB Marvin Quinn leaps across the goalline, finishing a highlight 88-yard touchdown reception.

However, it did not take the Sun Devils long to counter back as a halftime adjustment must have been to get their athletic QB Steve Stratton to run the option. The move worked, and the Sun Devils were able to score when Stratton on an option run in the red zone, pitched the ball at the last second and HB#30 found the endzone on a 7-yard touchdown run, putting ASU back on top 24-21.

As the fourth quarter started, ASU started getting a lot of pressure on Rossner again. The Sun Devils would finish with a total of seven sacks on the day, included three sacks by RE#94. Those sacks seemed to taking a toll on Rossner as his decision making was not that good. The situation would get worse for the Beavers when Quinn left with a strained pectoral that sidelined him for the remainder of the game. On the drive OSU was able to get in position for a 46-yard field goal but the kick was shanked to the right preserving a 24-21 ASU lead.

Fortunately for the Beavers, OSU SS Cameron Collins came up with his second interception, putting OSU at the ASU 40-yard line with 3:33 left in the game. OSU coach Mike Riley decided to be aggressive and go for the win as Rossner playfaked to HB#37, then threw deep to WR Darrell Catchings. Catchings was covered well by CB#27 and the ball was thrown too far toward the middle of the field where it was picked off by CB#27 in the endzone. The Beaver must have thought that they had a mismatch against CB#27 because they tested him deep many times but the defensive back continued to prove them wrong.

However, ASU was forced to punt with 2:30 left in the game. The Beavers would have another chance but as the OSU drive started, TE Gabe Miller left with a foot sprain. Now, the Beavers were without two of their best offensive players. Rossner was pressured on an ASU CB blitz, and threw deep to Catchings on crossing pattern but ASU sophomore FS Chris Anderson was there to step in front of it and make the interception. If Rossner had it over again, he would have dumped it in the flat to WR James Rodgers who was wide open. The game appeared to be over and the crowd started filing out.

ASU just needed to run the ball but OSU did have all of their timeouts. The Sun Devils came out passing and Stratton threw to a double covered receiver where it was picked off by OSU CB David Ross. Ross passed through a few mistackles and was able to take it back to the house for a pick-six to give the Beavers an unbelievable 28-24 victory as ASU was unable to pull a last-second miracle.

OSU CB David Ross comes up with a game-winning pick-six with very little time remaining.

      Highlight-OSU CB David Ross game-winning pick-six.

OSU coach Mike Riley was surprised and extatic that the Beavers pulled the win in crazy fashion, "We'll take it any way we can get it. A win is a win the way this season has gone for us. It wasn't pretty and we still have a lot of work to do but we'll take it.

For ASU coach Dennis Erickson, he had questions to respond to about the decision to pass. "Well, they did have all of their timeouts and they were stopping the run all game long so I didn't want to have to punt the ball back to them," Erickson responded. "Of course I didn't want Stratton to throw an interception but that's football. I'll admit it was probably a mistake but how do we know that Rossner doesn't score a last second touchdown any way?"

          WR Brian Horn 4* #6
          Quebec, CN
          Committed: Oregon State

The 6'4" 197 pound WR from Quebec, Canada has committed with the Beavers. Surprisingly, this talented wideout was not heavily recruited by the bigger programs. Maybe it was because he is from Canada but the only other offers came from BYU, Syracuse, and Pittsburgh. Horn looks like a great possession receiver since he has the height and jumping abiltiy to make some big catches. He does not have top end speed but is quick, elusive, and has the ability to break from press coverage. Horn really has the chance to be something special in a Mike Riley offense.

            Game of the Week
            #4 Virginia (9-0) at #10 Virginia Tech (8-1)

Chris: Welcome to Blacksburg, Virginia where the undefeated Virginia Cavaliers have come to town. (Crowd boos.) They will face a one-loss Hokie team in the Battle for the Commonwealth Cup. Virginia has proven to be one of the surprise teams this year as they have a real chance at making it to the National Championship. (Crowd continues to boo.) That isn't something these fans want to hear as they will have to get out of this hostile stadium with a win today if they want to keep their BCS dreams alive. We've got some other games today between top 25 teams. Another undefeated team, the No. 3 Wisconsin Badgers faces a trap game in Bloomington, Indiana against an emerging Hoosier team that is No. 22. Do you guys think Indiana can pull the upset?

Kirk: No way. Wisconsin is too physical for this team. Indiana just doesn't have the horses to compete against the Badgers.

Lee: I totally agree Kirk. Wisconsin has a sophomore HB Will Pittman that is having a sensational season. I think he might be a Heisman candidate before his career is over. Pittman will run over that Hoosier defense and it will not even be close.

Chris: No love for the Hoosiers then it looks like. Here's another intriguing matchup as the top ranked Gators face off against their old ball coach Steve Spurrier and the Gamecocks in Gainesville. Could South Carolina derail a perfect season for Urban Meyer?

Kirk: Are you serious? No chance will Florida lose this one. The Gators are too good. Florida wins big today.

Lee: Yep. This one will be over by halftime.

Chris: Alright. That leaves the predictions for this one today.

Kirk: Virginia is a very good football team but I don't think they are an elite team. They have played well but they will face some serious playmakers on that Hokie offense. Not only do they have the Heisman contending HB Ryan Williams but also QB Tyrod Taylor. I expect these two to be the difference today as the Hokies pull off the upset. (Crowd cheers.)

Lee: The Cavaliers do have some pretty good players in QB Peter Lalich and HB Keith Payne but they will struggle in this environment. And with those two impact players on the Hokie offense...(Lee puts on the Hokie headgear.) Go Hokies! Go Tech! (Crowd goes nuts.)

Oregon State (5-4) at UCLA (6-3)

Pasadena, CA - The picture is starting to become clearer in the Pac-10. The best Oregon State can hope for is probably a trip to the Holiday Bowl and most likely their best realistic hopes would be to go to the Sun Bowl. That is if they can win the rest of their games. For UCLA, the Bruins are still in contention for the Rose Bowl. The Bruins control their own destiny but they still have USC left on the schedule. This game will help decide what the bowl picture will look like in this conference.

UCLA marched right down the field on the opening possession and quickly scored when QB Chris Forcier hit WR#9 on a 3-yard touchdown to give the Burins an early 7-0 lead. Oregon State responded with an ugly three-and-out that amassed a total of negative-11 yards. The Bruins continued to look like they were well prepared for the game as UCLA HB#25 would break three tackles, shoving away an OSU defensive lineman on a 12-yard touchdown run to put the Bruins up 14-0.

UCLA HB#25 shoves his way into the endzone on a 12-yard touchdown run.

The Beavers again responded with a three-and-out. The Bruins marched back down the field and had the band playing the fight song again when HB#25 took a toss to the right into the endzone for a 2-yard touchdown giving UCLA a big 21-0 lead just as the first quarter came to an end.

Finally, after the disastrous start, OSU QB Bryan Rossner got the offense in rhythm and he was able to find WR Darrell Catchings on a curl route where the receiver spun away from a tackle, and raced into the endzone on the 32-yard touchdown reception to put the Beavers on the board down 21-7.

OSU WR Darrell Catchings spins away from a tackle and was gone for a 32-yard touchdown reception.

UCLA QB Chris Forcier would not help his team on the ensuing possession as he threw a pick to OSU CB David Ross. Rossner took advantage of the turnover as he threw to WR Kyle Brown on a short slant. Brown then broke two tackles and was in for six on a 33-yard connection. Before anyone knew it the Beavers were only down 21-14.

OSU WR Kyle Brown breaks two tackles and takes it in for six on a 33-yard touchdown reception.

However, the Bruins struck back with an impressive drive. The Beavers just had no answer for the Bruins' offense. Forcier would find his backup HB#28 in the flat in the red zone who walked into the endzone on an 8-yard touchdown to make it 28-14 UCLA. UCLA would actually score again before the half ended as HB#25 found the endzone for the third time on a 6-yard touchdown run. The Bruins would have a commanding 35-14 lead at halftime.

The Beavers came out in the third quarter and looked good on offense but had a drive stall, leading to a 32-yard field goal to make it 35-17 UCLA. The Bruins looked just as sharp as the first half and HB#25 continued to look unstoppable as he fought his way in from one yard out for his fourth rushing touchdown of the game to put UCLA up 42-17.

UCLA HB#25 celebrates his fourth touchdown in the endzone.

On the next OSU possession, Rossner would dump off a short pass to a wide open HB#37 who sped in for a 33-yard touchdown as the Beaevers were now down 42-24. The Beavers seemed to have something going and a comeback seemed like a possibility until Rossner threw his worst pass of his career. Rossner saw Catchings in man coverage deep downfield, and slung it but the ball floated away to the middle of the field which ended up in the hands of UCLA FS#38 as the third quarter came to an end.

The Beavers finally started playing defense in the fourth quarter and were able to get their offense back on the field. Unfortunately, another ball got away from Rossner deep downfield that was intercepted by UCLA SS#34. Finally, the Beavers put a drive together, and Rossner was able to throw a strike to Catchings between the zone for a 10-yard touchdown. In addition, Rossner was able to run it in himself to score the 2-point conversion to make it only a ten-point lead for UCLA as the Beavers were now down only 42-32 but there was only 2:32 remaining.

OSU QB Bryan Rossner hits WR Darrell Catchings between four defenders for a 10-yard touchdown.

The Beavers attempted an onside kick but it was unsuccessful. OSU head coach Mike Riley used his remaining timeouts conserving time, and on third down OSU SS Cameron Collins came up with a huge interception with 2:14 left in the game. Rossner took advantage of the opportunity as he led a spectaclar drive. The Beavers had been throwing the ball over the yard, abandoning the run pretty much since the second half started, and Rossner was shining for the most part. Eight yards away from the endzone, Rossner hit Catchings on a slant in the endzone to make it 42-39 UCLA. It was Catchings' third touchdown reception of the game.

OSU QB Bryan Rossner hits WR Darrell Catching for a third time in the endzone.

There was only 1:18 left in the game. It would all come down to the onside kick. OSU K Justin Kahut kicked the ball into the ground where it bounced up. The ball bounced off of a UCLA player and a scrum for the ball occured where the Beavers ended up recovering the ball.

Now, all that OSU needed was a field goal to tie. The Beavers got to midfield on a reception from Catchings. After two incomplete passes into tight coverage, Rossner on third down threw deep to WR James Rodgers, who had beat the man coverage. Again the ball got away from the young QB as it sailed into the middle of the field. Rodgers traversed all the way from the sideline to inside the hashmarks where he ran into UCLA SS#34. The ball fell right between Rodgers and SS#34. They both got their hands on the ball but SS#34 came up with the interception and the Rose Bowl erupted as the Bruins had came away with the victory.

UCLA SS#34 comes away with the interception to end the Beavers' comeback.

                  Game of the Week
                  #7 Notre Dame (9-1) at #2 USC (10-0)

Chris: Welcome to the Coliseum where we have a huge rivalry game between two of the most prestigous programs in college football and there is a lot on the line today. We'll get back to this one later as we have a lot to get to as there are a bunch of games that will help decide the bowl picture. The reemerging No. 20 Miami Hurricanes will be in Charlottesville to play the undefeated No. 3 Virginia Cavaliers. They are thinking about big things in Charlottesville after the win over rival Virginia Tech as a win today will clinch the ACC-Coastal division and keep Virginia's National Championship dreams alive. However, a win for Miami will clinch the division for the 'Canes. What do you guys think about this one?

Kirk: Randy Shannon really has the Hurricanes playing well again. I think this team has been completely overlooked. Their only loss came against Florida at the Swamp in week one. Viginia won a huge victory last week but I was not all that impressed. I thought the Hokies played a bad game. I'm going with Miami to win this one today.

Lee: Nice pick. But not so fast! This is Virginia's year. There's no way Miami goes into Charlottesville and beats Virginia on their homefield. Virginia wins.

Chris: Well, we're off to a good start here. The Big East will be decided today if No. 8 Pittsburgh beats No. 18 West Virginia at Pittsburgh. If the Mountaineers win, then they will need South Florida to lose to UConn as the Bulls beat West Virginia earlier in the season. Who do you guys got in this one?

Kirk: West Virginia has the fourth best rushing defense and that is why I'm picking West Virginia to win. They will take away Pitt HB LeSean McCoy. Take away McCoy and that Pitt offense is pretty average.

Lee: McCoy has a huge game and leads his team to a conference title but it will be a close game.

Chris: Alright two-for-two in disagreement. The Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa will decide who wins the SEC-West division as the winner of the game will find themselves in the SEC Championship against Florida. Who's going to be playing Florida for the SEC title?

Kirk: I'm going with Alabama because of Nick Saban and the incredible athletes he has on this team and I don't think Auburn can win in Tuscaloosa.

Lee: Kirk, Auburn beat Notre Dame. (Crowd cheers.) This Auburn team has been underrated and I'm not doubting them anymore. Auburn pulls it off by a last second field goal.

Chris: Alright...three-for-three. You guys are earning your paychecks today. That leaves the big game we have today. As Lee just mentioned, Notre Dame's only loss came at the hands of Auburn but their National Championship chances are not completely dead. A win over the Trojans today would put them back into contention. USC is coming off of a huge dismantling of Oregon and is looking like the real deal. And now it looks like they have gotten fully healthy. Erin, do you have more on that?

Erin: I sure do Chris. I spoke with the USC trainers and they told me that USC DT DaJohn Harris was really the only guy they were concerned about but it looks like his strained knee is doing better. He should be able to play so that defense will be as healthy as they've been in a while. I can tell you that Harris is fire up and ready to get after it.

Chris: Well, that could be huge for the Trojans. So who wins this one today?

Kirk: I picked the Trojans to be in the championship and so far my two teams that I picked at the beginning of the year are the top two teams in the nation. USC has the home stadium, the song girls, all of the five-star athletes, and they're fully healthy. There's no reason I shouldn't pick USC but I'm going with Notre Dame. I think that the Trojans have been reading the press clippings all week saying how great they are after that blowout win over Oregon. Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen and Charlie Weis will have a gameplan to succeed today and the Irish win today. (Crowd boos with a tiny bit of cheers.) Look! There's some Irish fans out there. Alright!

Lee: That's a nice pick Kirk. You know I picked the Irish to be in the National Championship. Jimmy Clausen is a great QB and that Gray-Olsen HB tandem they got is great. That's why I'm going with...(Lee gets out the green Irish hat and almost puts it on as the crowd boos. He waves it at the crowd and then throws it like a frisby into the crowd as the crowd starts cheering.) Not so fast! USC beat Oregon 70-10! Let me say that again. 70-10! Oregon is not a bad team either. Corp is coming off a six touchdown performance. Let me say that again. Six touchdowns. This Trojan team is the real deal. Notre Dame has no chance in this one. Give me that. (Lee puts on the full Trojan gear, holds the sword in the air and hums the Trojan fight song as the crowd cheers.)

well, well - a high scoring affair there. 401-yards, good lord. In the end the running game overpowered ya.

god luck next week. (edit: this was about the UCLA game - damn emac gotta post so quick).

Oregon State (5-5) at Stanford (0-10)

Palo Alto, CA - It would be a slight understatement to say that Stanford is struggling this season as the Cardinal are still looking for their first win but OSU head coach Mike Riley does not want his team looking past Stanford. "This is a tough football game for us," Riley said. "We take them one week at a time and we know that Stanford is a hungry football team looking for a win. I expect it to be a good hard fought game." It is hard to tell whether Riley was serious or whether he could just be showing respect to a former quarterback, Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh, whom Riley coached while he was the head coach for the San Diego Chargers. Stanford had to think that this would be as good of a chance as they would have to get a win with the inconsistent play the Beavers have shown this season. For Oregon State, a win would officially make the Beavers bowl eligible.

Stanford did come out fired up as expected, able to get into the red zone but the OSU defense held, forcing a 31-yard field goal that was missed. This is how a team stays winless. The Beavers looked sharp on their opening drive as OSU QB Bryan Rossner threw a dump off pass into the flat to FB Ryan McCants who broke a tackle and high-stepped into the endzone on the 24-yard touchdown connection to put the Beavers on top early 7-0.

OSU FB Ryan McCants catches a ball in the flat, breaks a tackle, and high steps into the endzone on a 24-yard touchdown.

However, by the second quarter, Stanford found themselves inside the red zone again after a long, methodical drive. Stanford WR#89 lined up in the backfield and carried it in for a 3-yard touchdown to tie the game 7-7. On Stanford's next possession, OSU SS Cameron Collins would come up with an interception to stop Stanford's offense which the Beavers were having a hard time stopping. The turnover would set up OSU HB#37 to bounce a run outside and take it for a 32-yard gain which led to a 2-yard touchdown run by HB Marivn Quinn, give OSU a 14-7 lead. Rossner would lead a good last minute drive at the end of the half to set up a 31-yard field goal for Justin Kahut but the ball was doinked off the upright as Oregon State would only be up by seven point at halftime.

The Beavers would come out in the second half and march down the field with ease and finish off the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run by HB#37 to give the Beavers some breathing room, up 21-7. However, on OSU's ensuing possession, Rossner made a mistake, trying to get a pass to WR James Rodgers in tight coverage but it was picked off by Stanford MLB Nick Macaluso. The turnover set up a Stanford 23-yard field goal as the OSU defense held their ground making it 21-10 OSU. Both offenses sputtered throughout the remaining time of the third quarter and Rossner would throw another interception just before the fourth quarter.

Stanford QB Andrew Luck was having a pretty decent game as OSU could generate no pressure and Luck hit WR#89 on a curl where he spun away from an OSU SS Cameron Collins whiffing tackling attempt, and took in for a 28-yard touchdown. Stanford failed on the 2-point conversion but now found themselves only down 21-16.

Stanford WR#89 spins away from OSU SS Cameron Collins, takes in for a 28-yard touchdown.

The pendulum had swung toward Stanford as OSU was forced to punt from deep inside their own side of the field. Then on Stanford's possession, HB#31 sliced and diced his way through the Beavers' defense and took it to the house for a 66-yard touchdown to give the Cardinal the lead. Again, Stanford failed on the 2-point conversion but Stanford was now up 22-21 and the crowd that showed up for the game was energized.

Stanford HB#31 takes it to the house on a 66-yard touchdown run.

                      Highlight-Stanford HB#31 66-yard touchdown run

Oregon State needed to respond quickly as there was only 5:19 left in the game. Rossner threw deep to WR Darrell Catchings in man coverage where the receiver held out his arms and made the catch for a 33-yard gain.

OSU WR Darrell Catchings with a 33-yard reception.

The big gain would eventually allow the Beavers to get into the red zone where Rossner on rollout, threw on the run to TE Gabe Miller in front of the goalline and Miller was able cross in for a 3-yard touchdown to put OSU back on top 27-22 as OSU failed on the 2-point attempt.

OSU QB Bryan Rossner finds TE Gabe Miller for a 3-yard touchdown to put the Beavers back on top.

The Oregon State defense would hold on a Stanford fourth down attempt as Luck threw into coverage and OSU CB Mike Mayes knocked the ball down. All the Beavers had to do was run a few plays, set up in the victory formation to escape what would have been an embarrassing loss to winless Stanford. Oregon State will probably need to play better than this if they are to win next week in the Civil War against Oregon next week in Corvallis.

                          Game of the Week
                          #1 Florida (11-0) at #9 Florida State (9-2)

Chris: We're coming to you from Talahassee today where we've got a huge game between the top ranked Florida Gators and the No. 9 Florida State Seminoles.

Lee: Man look at that crowd. Look at the scenery in that crowd. No wonder it's so easy to recruit here. (Crowd cheers.)

Chris: Ha ha. Easy coach. Keep this a family friendly program. As far as football goes this Saturday, we've got some interesting matchups that nobody could have foreseen that we would care about at the beginning of the season. First, we have No. 15 Virginia Tech going up against No. 22 Temple. That's right. Temple only has one loss and will play in the MAC championship. Does Temple have any chance in this one?

Kirk: You know, why not? This has been a magical season for them. They don't have the athletes but I say they get it done in Philly. That Hokie team isn't playing very well anyway.

Lee: Temple has no chance. They have had a very weak schedule and they will get destroyed by at least four touchdowns. Mark it down. It's a great story for Temple but they can't compete against the Hokies.

Chris: Okay, we turn to a team that has really had an amazing run and that is No. 4 TCU who has a 26 game winning streak that will be on the line against a very good one-loss South Florida team. Do the Bulls end the streak today?

Kirk: Absolutely they do. That stadium will be rocking in Tampa and TCU will meet their match today.

Lee: Not so fast! TCU has an excellent quarterback by the name of Andy Dalton. He will lead TCU to another win and it won't even be close. TCU is better than people realize.

Chris: Lastly, before we get to our spotlight game, there is a big game taking place in Pasadena, California today between No. 2 USC and UCLA. Not only does the victor get bragging rights, but the winner will walk away with the conference championship. USC is coming off of an impressive blowout win over a very good Notre Dame team and has looked incredible in their last two games. Do the Bruins pull the upset today?

                          Kirk: No. Period.

Lee: No chance. UCLA is not as good as Notre Dame so this one will not be pretty and the next time we'll see the Trojans will be in Glendale, Arizona for the BCS championship.

Chris: Alright, that leaves this one we have here between Florida and Florida State. (Crowd cheers.) Florida State has a laundry list worth of injuries including their speedy HB Marshall Bryant. Is there any chance that the 'Noles get some of these guys back Erin?

Erin: It looks like the Seminoles should get most of them back. Sophomore HB Marshall Bryant seems to not be bothered by the dislocated elbow and should play today. Also, OLB Vince Williams seems to have healed from his foot stress fracture and he should play too. As for WR Bert Reed, he remains questionable with his foot stress fracture. Back to you guys.

Chris: Thanks Erin. That should help Florida State getting those guys back but they've got a daunting task trying to beat the Gators. Can they do it?

Kirk: The Gators are too good. Where I really think there is a big mismatch is the talented Gator receivers against the 'Noles' cornerbacks. I don't think Florida will have any trouble in this one. Florida WR Deonte Thompson has a huge day and the Gators win big.

Lee: The 'Noles have a QB by the name of D'Vontrey Richardson and he is the new darling of the media and for good reason. He is playing spectacular and with the help of his talented HB Marshall Bryant, they will lead Florida State to a close, close win over the Gators. (Crowd cheers as Lee puts on the Seminole headdress and does the warchant.) Go 'Noles!

                            Civil War
Oregon (6-5) at Oregon State (6-5)

Corvallis, OR - It has been a long season so far for the Beavers but the same could be said for the Ducks as both came into the Civil War with mediocre 6-5 records. Oregon has won the last two Civil Wars with a spanking of Oregon State last year and would look to make it three in a row. The winner would be able to have something to be happy about if they could win this rivalry game. Oregon has lost their last two games in a row, which includes losing last week to Arizona and a getting destroyed by USC 70-10. The Beavers are coming off of a shaky performance against winless Stanford so it was hard to tell what kind of game this would be.

Winter has reached the Willamette Valley as the game-time temperature was a freezing 30 degrees but there was no precipitation like last year's Civil War in Eugene. The Oregon State defense was fired up at the beginning of the game. Especially OSU DE Kevin Frahm, who recorded two sacks on the first two plays from scrimmage for the Ducks. On Frahm's second sack of Oregon QB Nate Costa, the ball came loose but the Ducks recovered. However, Oregon would have to punt after a three-and-out. This was quite unexpected since the Beavers have been unable to get any pass rush all season long.

OSU DE Kevin Frahm sacks Oregon QB Nate Costa on the first two offensive plays for the Ducks.

Oregon State looked just as good on offense as OSU QB Bryan Rossner led a magnificent drive and finished it off with a short pass to WR Kyle Brown, who broke a tackle and was in for a 15-yard touchdown to put the Beavers on top 7-0. Reser Stadium was ignited early.

OSU WR Kyle Brown with a 15-yard touchdown.

However, Oregon would regain their composure on the ensuing possession for the Ducks. Oregon QB Nate Costa connected with WR Dion Jordan deep over the middle for a 49-yard gain. This would set up a strike thrown by Costa to freshman WR Tony Houston over the middle for a game-tieing 13-yard touchdown, making it 7-7.

The Beavers were aggressive on their next possession as Rossner faked a handoff to OSU HB Marvin Quinn, rolled out to his left, and threw deep to a crossing WR Darrell Catchings but the ball was thrown too far in front as the Beavers had missed a golden opportunity to score an easy touchdown, and it would lead to a three-and-out. As the first quarter came to an end, Oregon would suffer a pretty serious injury to their starting HB#1, who left with what was later determined to be a foot stress fracture that could keep him out for six weeks.

However, it did not seem to matter as the injury did not slow down the Oregon offense as HB Remene Alston Jr. would get a pitch off of an option and break loose for a 37-yard touchdown run to put the Ducks ahead 14-7.

Oregon HB Remene Alston Jr. scores on a 37-yard touchdown run.

Oregon State would counter with a long, methodical 12-play drive that was finished off with a 1-yard touchdown run by HB Marvin Quinn to tie the game 14-14. The Ducks looked like they were going to score another touchdown but the Beavers' defense held up in the red zone, forcing a Oregon 27-yard field goal that was missed.

One guy that was looking good for Oregon State was HB Marvin Quinn as he was running hard. His running would set up another playaction opportunity as Rossner threw deep over the middle of the field to Catchings who was open. Unfortunately, Catchings dropped the ball as the Beavers missed a chance for another big play. It appeared the half would come to an end as the Ducks had only :05 left. The Ducks ran a speed option and Costa made a late pitch to Alston who got a few blocks to get him outside, slipped out of a tackle from behind, and was off to the house for a killer 79-yard touchdown as the Beavers' defense broke down at a catastrophic time to give the Ducks a 21-14 lead at halftime.

The Beavers looked composed to start the second half as OSU got within the red zone but were forced to kick a 25-yard field goal to cut the Ducks' lead to 21-17. Though Oregon would tack on a field goal of their own on a 51-yard field goal to put the Ducks back up by seven as it was now 24-17 Oregon.

On the OSU's next possession, Quinn took a toss to the left, broke a tackle in the backfield, found some room, juked two Duck defenders, made his way to to the sideline, and raced down the field to the house for a 52-yard touchdown run to tie it up 24-24. It appeared that Quinn was having a breakout performance in the most important game of the year.

The Ducks were held to a 48-yard field goal opportunity on their ensuing possession but the kicker shanked it to preserve a 24-24 tie going into the fourth quarter.

Oregon State and Oregon would exchange punts as the game was still tied midway into the fourth quarter. The Beavers would find themselves backed up at their own 8-yad line. That is whereRossner would break the game open when he hit Catchings on a slant where the receiver took it for a 42-yard gain. The drive continued down the field mainly behind the running of Quinn. Oregon State would finish off a 92-yard drive with a 3-yard touchdown run by Quinn, his third of the day, to put OSU on top 31-24 with only 3:29 remaining in the game.

OSU HB Marvin Quinn scores his third touchdown of the game, giving Oregon State the lead.

The Ducks would need to score a touchdown on this drive and Costa led a good drive where the Ducks had just gotten inside OSU territory but it was now 4th-and-three with 1:06 in the game. Costa dropped back to pass and could not find anybody open. OSU had brought the heat and OLB Tom Hansen got through, drilling Costa for a sack to essentially end the game. It was the Beavers' fifth sack of the game. Quinn would run for a first down and the Beavers kneeled on it, getting the Civil War victory at Reser Stadium.

OSU OLB Tom Hansen comes up with a huge sack.
