Texas State highers Ryan Long as Offensive Coordinator
Coach Long speaking to the media
Texas State has been searching for an offensive coordinator since learning they would be joining FBS and firing their previous offensive coordinator. Their search is over after they have hired Ryan Long, a Texas State alumni and former Dillon High School Head Coach. At Dillon High School he took all 3 of his teams to the State Championship game and returned to Dillon with trophies. His alternative approach of the hurry up triple option offense was unstoppable and Texas State has seen the potential. "I'm excited to be here again at this great university. I know we have some big years ahead of us, but I hope to bring all I have to the table and win some football games. I am extremely appreciative of the opportunity especially at my age.". Coach Long will be on campus officially next week as he will begin his college football coaching career.

Coach Longs Contract and Expectations
[IMG][/IMG]
pic coming soon
New Texas State Offensive Coordinator, Ryan Long, signed a 3 year contract that would keep him on the staff until 2015. His goals for the duration of the contract are as followed:
1. 500+ rushing yards each season.
2. Win 8 games in one season.
3. 2000+ total offensive yards each season.
4. 7 + passing TD in one season.
5. 10+ points per game in each season.
6. 2400+ total offensive yards in one season.
7. Win 4 games in one season.
8. 2000+ total offensive yards in one season.
With Coach Longs Hurry Up/Triple Option styled offense, this could turn out very well for him and he could complete all the goals, or it could crash and burn and could very well be fired only 2 years in. Time will tell.
