Week 8 Preview
at
Arizona Cardinals (5-1) at Buffalo Bills (5-1)
Pre-Game Injury Report
ARZ- Adrian Wilson, SS (fractured arm - probable) | Bryant Johnson, WR (torn calf - out)
BUF- No injures to report.
Pre-Game Matchups
Cardinals QB Drew Henson (112-191, 1799 yards, 14 TD, 9 INT) vs. Bills QB Drew Bledsoe (122-193, 1593 yards, 13 TD, 4 INT)It's the battle of the Drews here. Henson bounced back from an awful game against the Niners with a decent game against division rival Seattle. Buffalo has a good secondary with safety Lawyer Milloy and cornerback Troy Vincent, so Henson shouldn't expect a great game. Bledsoe has played well so far this season but goes against a tough Cardinals secondary that forced Matt Hasselbeck last week into four interceptions.
Cardinals HB Emmitt Smith (113 carries, 419 yards, 7 TD) vs. Bills HB Travis Henry (98 carries, 335 yards, 3 TD)Smith had a decent game last week. He couldn't break many big gains but was effective in the redzone with two touchdowns. Erik Bickerstaff didn't make a difference last week, as he only had three carries, but should have a bigger role against Buffalo. Travis Henry and Willis McGahee have been a nice one-two punch as well, as Henry leads the team with 335 yards and three scores.
Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (55 catches, 744 yards, 4 TD) vs. Bills WR Eric Moulds (36 catches, 529 yards, 3 TD)Fitzgerald has been nothing short of amazing this season. He's averaging a little over nine catches and 124 yards receiving a game...as a rookie. Oh and that Anquan Boldin guy is pretty good as well. Eric Moulds has been the leading receiver for the Bills and has done a pretty good job this year. Rookie Lee Evans is the second option for Bledsoe, giving him a nice one-two option as well.
Prediction: Cardinals 24, Bills 21

BEST SECONDARY IN THE LEAGUE? CARDINALS MAKE A CASE FOR THAT IN WIN

FOURTH QUARTER

BUF- Drew Bledsoe 4 yard pass to Eric Moulds (pass failed)
ARZ- Neil Rackers 47 yard field goal
BUFFALO, NY (AP)- Arizona press quoted Adrian Wilson before the game saying that "his Cardinals have the best secondary in the league." No one could really argue against that statement; look at the quarterbacks that they've faced: Tom Brady (5 INT), Aaron Brooks (10-29, 2 INT), Tim Rattay (10-35, 94 yards), and Matt Hasselbeck (4 INT) all had games below their standards when facing Arizona. Now add Drew Bledsoe to that list. Bledsoe threw four interceptions to the stud secondary of the Cardinals, and Arizona got a good performance on the ground from Erik Bickerstaff in their 33-20 win on Halloween. Duane Starks led the pick parade with two of them, including one for a touchdown, while Dexter Jackson and Raynoch Thompson both added one. Bickerstaff came off the bench to replace an ineffective Emmitt Smith and ran for 81 yards and a score on 14 carries.
After a three and out to open the game by Buffalo, Henson went to the air, finding Larry Fitzgerald for 11 yards followed by two throws to Anquan Boldin, including the opening 46 yard touchdown. An unexciting finish to the first quarter led to Arizona driving in the second. Neil Rackers hit a 31 yard field goal to put the Cardinals up 10-0. Bledsoe struck back with a 54 yard touchdown pass to Eric Moulds to bring the Bills closer but on Buffalo's next drive, Rian Lindell missed a 49 yard field goal and Arizona went into the lockerroom winning 10-7.
Arizona got the ball to start the second half and after two short plays, Henson threw a pass to the right side where Troy Vincent was waiting. Vincent picked it off and ran it back 32 yards for six. The Cardinals struck back with a five play touchdown drive that ended in a Bickerstaff 47 yard touchdown run. Travis Henry carried the ball three straight times on Buffalo's next drive before Bledsoe found a wide open Duane Starks. Starks ran back the interception for 42 yards and a touchdown, giving Arizona the lead for good. Arizona improves to 6-1 and will head to Miami to face the Dolphins next week.

Thanks for checking in Mitch. Henson has been playing well, but his stats could be inflated since he's throwing to Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald. ;) Bickerstaff is one of those backs who can play well one game and make you want to shoot yourself the next. He's really inconsistent. Emmitt I believe is 34 or 35 in this game, around a 77 overall I'm pretty sure.
