thats tough.....who would you use if you started a new one
i don't know if i could start a new one. i've been a die hard orioles fan since i was born, i went to a Red Sox vs. Orioles game for my first game when i was 2 years old lol. it's a little late to start a new one anyway. i got a NCAA10, Madden10 and NBA 2K10 comin out that i could do i chise with. so idk yet. depends on what happens when i play tonight.

aw i know. that's the only reason he's still in the majors at 0-6. he doesn't pitch bad, it's just he gets no run support
Well, I know one of the main differences between rookie and veteran is contact with the ball. In rookie, all you have to worry about is timing. Contact (aiming for the ball) is taken care of automatically essentially.
Who cares what difficulty level you play on as long as you're enjoying the game and games are still competitive for you. Once you start winning too easily or are blowing out teams left and right, bump it back up to veteran imo.
yea i don't know if im aiming for contact or not... when im batting i just use guess pitch for a slider or curveball cuz i can never hit them. i don't touch the left stick... am i supposed to be using the left stick?

If you are using guess pitch, then you should definitely aim with the left stick to the location that you guessed correctly. Imo, it's best to guess fastballs because they are usually in the strike zone.
Take into consideration what arm the pitcher is throwing from against you.
Learn to identify pitches. You know sliders are more than likely coming into your hands if he's a RHP throwing against your left handed hitter, etc etc. Curveballs more than likely will break low.
One of the hardest pitches to read in this game is the high fastball. Gets me to either strikeout or pop a lazy fly ball into foul territory.
Damn, those are the losses that hurt the most. They're tense and fun to play, but those make the BP go up. Keep it up though, the O's have some studs waiting to break. Hopefully, you can keep this going and get to play with some of them.
You gotta remember, the O's aren't that good to start with, and play in the hardest division. Maybe you should sim a few games so that you can keep things moving and move the level down, so that at least it's more competitive. You should do what makes it enjoyable for you. Like I said before my edit, it's going to be interesting to see what the O's may be like in a couple of years, if you can keep things going.

Here's a tip one of my friends gave me. Guess high fastball, at whatever frequency you feel comfortable, and if it's locked in location and pitch, you kinda have to read it, because like mfbmike said, the high heat is tough to read. But if it's just location, probably about 90% of the time, it's going to be pretty close to right down the middle of the plate. It's not going to guarantee hits, but should get some decent results. I used to almost never guess up, but now it's more integrated into my guessing, and it helps some.

The hardest thing in this game to do is to read the pitches. I'm always screwed if I see a changeup, which seems like a fastball. Your PCI (Plate Coverage Indicator) has to be in a specific spot for your swing to be effective. Think of it as your batter's eyes. Basically this comes into effect if you play on a certain game level/mode (all star, rookie, legend, etc.). The harder the mode, the more effective the PCI is. Try playing on an easier game mode with the same sliders and see if that works for you.
thanks a lot guys ill start trying all that stuff. when i first got the game i used to guess high fastball all the time (that was in the beginning of the season when i was winning games) but then it seemed like i would do it all the time and the pitchers would rarely throw it there. That was when i started guessing curveball, slider etc.... in different places which was more recently and i've been losing so that obviously isn't working.
yea //.franchise i have the same problem with changeups lol. i will never get a good hit off of a changeup. and i play on Veteran which is the second easiest besides rookie and i don't want to go down to rookie because i think it will be too easy and i would feel like a complete fucking loser playing on rookie lol
