Jose Guillen has ripped me apart before. In this chise as well as online (against Buddha in the Sombrero).
Definitely got lucky that they didn't get the key hits when they needed em.Comment

Tigers Acquire Washburn For 2 Pitchers
After days of debate, the Seattle Mariners traded left-handed pitcher Jarrod Washburn to the Detroit Tigers for two young pitchers, giving the Tigers another veteran for their rotation as they try to hold on to the AL Central lead.
The Mariners sent the 34-year-old to the Tigers for Chris Lambert and Eddie Bonine.
Lambert is 9-2 with a 2.89 ERA while Bonine is 6-8 with a 2.27 ERA. Both pitchers have spent all season as the #1 and #2 pitchers in the Toledo Mud Hens rotation.
Washburn however, is 2-11 with a 6.20 ERA and will likely come out of the pen for long relief for the time being.
(I don't have French or Robles so I gave them my 2 best rated pitchers out of Triple A.)Last edited by mfbmike; 08-01-2009, 06:33 PM.Comment

I don't know. He's rated somewhat low and my starting rotation is pitching well enough that I don't think he's necessary as of yet, barring injuries or any other circumstances (Porcello hitting the rookie wall, etc.)
If he proves to be really good in the game and maybe get some wins for me out of the pen, we'll see if things change.
*edit*
Oh and he's a lefty as well which is nice. My only other lefty out of the pen up until this point was Bobby Seay and he is far from dominant.Last edited by mfbmike; 08-01-2009, 07:49 PM.Comment

Tough Lefty Takes Care Of The Tigers In Series Opener
(51-34) vs (41-45)
Just give this man a gold glove already. Curtis Granderson lays out and makes an outstanding diving catch out on the warning track.
Detroit couldn't overcome Cleveland and Cliff Lee in their loss to the talented left-hander Cliff Lee tonight. The Tigers couldn't put up enough runs on the boards despite the opportunities to do so, as Cleveland beat them 6-2 in an AL Central Contest tonight. Collecting 3 hits in 4 at-bats, Miguel Cabrera set the table offensively. Rick Porcello got the call in this one, but was shaken up early and yielded 5 runs on 9 hits in his 6 and two thirds innings of work. The loss dropped his record to 6-7.
The Tigers will start Justin Verlander (6-6 , 2.45 ERA) tomorrow night in game 2 of the series , while the Indians will counter with Aaron Laffey (4-4 , 3.11 ERA). Curtis Grander looks to build on his 11 game hitting streak.
