One more observation ... this CD confirms that Kanye needs to come out with another hip hop album SOON.

I loved 808s, but as usual, Kanye kills his verses on BP3.

It's not that bad. But it isn't good for Jay-z especially in a follow up of the original Blueprint which was arguably Jay-Z's best album.

      Coming soon...

There a few throw away songs on it, but I can get into most of the others, and expect it to grow on me with more listens.
If you are the GOAT of the rap game you need to bring your A game. If this was a CD from Memphis Bleek I might give it some slack.

Blueprint 3 is to Jay-Z what Universal Mind Control is to Common?

          Except this is actually good

            False. Both are wack.

Kingdom Come, yes, but American Gangster is a great album. I thought it was garbage at first too but I gave it a couple more listens and loved it. Jay's lyrics on that album were his best since The Blueprint.

While I like BP3, so far, American Gangster was light years ahead of this. Jay's rhyme schemes on AG were just plain awesome, and his storytelling, for the most part, was reminiscent of his early days.

Kingdom Come was weak. American Gangster was a great way to rebound from that trash.

i understand what you're trying to say, but just because it's not a classic doesn't automatically mean it sucks.. you have to take the album for what it is..

it's not the same jay z anymore. he says it himself in the track.. if thats what you want, then go buy his old albums...

its not that good of a cd.. but there's some songs that are enjoyable.. i would definitely argue that it's not GARBAGE like people are proclaiming. it's average.. for jay z standards that might be garbage, but as an actual album it is just that.. AVERAGE.. it has it's pro's and con's...

i don't understand why everyone is quick to label shit either a classic or a flop.. it's been leaked for a day now... people just look for an excuse to hate hard or hype shit up...

I am willing to bet a few years from now no one will be saying this album is a classic, and no one will be saying it's garbage like they are now.. they will just say it was a so-so album that they got a few tracks from.
Garbage is garbage.. now and 3 years from now, this shit will still be a disapointment. If you're going to make the three-quel to 2 of Jay's best albums, you cant come with this shit. Its simply unacceptable. Jay has fallen WAY off.

After having this and listened to it for a day, this album is not as bad as I originally thought. It just had so much hype to it, and it got pushed back so much, I expected it to be pure greatness. It is not that, but it is a very solid album that I will listen to for awhile.

I could listen to D.O.A, Run This Town, and Empire State of Mind for a while as good songs. He did need to include more well known and legendary artists in his album. Although I like that he had J. Cole on a track but J. Cole's one verse on A Star is Born was better than all of Jay's verses.
