I decided to watch the preview for the season 7 finale because I wanted to see if I could see where Doakes is when he says "Surprise Motherfucker!" The only reason I did it was because I was thinking it may be a flashback as I know he followed Dex one time to the port and said it. I figured, it may be a flashback to that scene, but, I was able to pause the video when they flashed it and it looks to be inside Miami Metro. Also, it looks like Dex and HM are hooking up behind bars as well. This Doakes thing is interesting b/c I only remember him saying that when he was following Dexter. I found that scene and it doesn't match what is flashed, very quickly, on-screen of Doakes. Take it FWIW, it is fun to speculate though.

It's probably a Dexter hallucination. Keeping Doakes alive would be absolutely pathetic, which is where I want to see this show go.

The more I watch this show, the more I wonder why people still like it. It's not exactly deep, most of the twists this season have been horribly predictable and there just doesn't seem to be any direction, what are we on now the 5th or 6th main plotline of the season?

Only reason I still watch is because its almost over and I'm like fuck it, watched this much might as well finish. I know all this has to be going somewhere since its ending

Can't wait to hate-watch the finale and bash it for another 9 months. In that 9 months though, Showtime will show its greed and renew the show for ANOTHER season, bringing the show even further down as the ratings go UP.
