I don't understand why Deb shot her, why not just let Dexter finish his plan? Must be some motivation to that.

I don't think Hannah McKay is going to be hunting Dexter. I think she's getting going to be sending postcards from Argentina.
As for the finale...predictable, but I thought it was good. As for Deb after shooting her...in the little production discussion after the episode...they basically left the camera running after the scene and it as Jennifer Carpenter trying to win a Golden Globe or something...
My biggest issue is this...
It is the first time someone has openly stated that DEXTER IS THE BAY HARBOR BUTCHER...I don't see how Dexter can reasonable continue his moonlighting with the inkling out there that he's the guy...people will be watching him extra close, especially with LaGuerta ending up dead after accusing him of such.
By Season 8, Dexter being a moonlighting serial killer has to be the worst kept secret...
It would have been wise for Tom to come out and tell LaGuerta either he has known Dexter is the Bay Harbor Butcher for years or "even if he was"...but, he doesn't care because he kills scumbags or something.
The show is no longer about Dexter, and that should be ok...there is absolutely nothing else they can tell you about Dexter that you don't already know or wouldn't come off as forced and contrived...there is nothing else his character can arc to. His cover with Rita and eventually falling for HER and humanizing his character with Harrison was his arc...everything since...Lumen, Hannah, his deviation from "the code" is all contrived and forced to further a character analysis that doesn't need to be analyzed anymore because there is nothing to tell.
The show, really, is about Deb now, and has been since the middle of last season, and what has gone on since is essentially her character arc and expounding on her character.Maddon & Friedman: Pissing off the AL East since 2008

i was a little disappointed in the ending. Not like last season, it left a holy shit in my mind when Deb walked in on Dexter.
I glad LaGuerta is dead but I would have rather seen Dexter have her strapped to a table.Comment

Anyone else think Deb was jsut god awful in that final scene. It would ahve been a whole lot better if she put her gun down and told Dexter do his thing and she walks away as LaGuearta starts screaming for her to help while Dexter goes all psycho on her ass.Comment

a little curious to see how they will start next season. I mean Deb called in looking for LaGuerta and where she was heading.
Did her and Dex cut both of them up and dump their bodies?
Will Deb say LaGuerta was trying to frame dex and shot her because she was going shot Dexter? (kinda like the stripper scene)Comment

Halfway through the episode i had a feeling it would end the season on a good note, but it didnt. Once deb showed up at the ports i was confident it wouldn't end as well as it could've. I mean when she had Dexter at gun point it was obvious she would never shoot him, I mean they already said there is one more season (the final one), so it would've been pointless to kill him now.
It does look like Deb ends up in a bad spot at the beginning of next year, I mean she calls in to find out her location and then the bullet is from her gun. I don't think they chopped up the bodies, Dexter being a crime scene analysts probably set up to look like his original plan."It's the revenge of the dicks that's nine cocks that cock nines"Comment

The last scene would have been so much better if Deb never knew Dex was a serial killer.
They fucked up this whole season, the ending of this season should have been last seasons finale. Also once Isaac found out Dex loved Hannah he should have killed her, thats the perfect way for revenge.Comment

The season finale was pretty good, even though predictable. I thought the season overall was the worst by far though. After the first few episodes it had trouble holding my attention. Dexter has had a good run, but I'm glad that last season is the end.Comment

IMO, the season would have been better if Ray Stevenson had met a much better ending. His ending pissed me off so much. He was an astounding Dexter foil and so fucking wasted by how they killed him off.My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000

They should have kept Mike around for a little longer, introduced Issak late in the season and Hannah McKay in the season premiere, made the LaGuerta shit the focus early on and then killed LaGuerta toward the end. Dexter solves one problem and then Issak is a new problem. Issak kills Hannah McKay in the season finale.
Next season, Issak realizes that taking away the person he loved the most didn't mean Hannah McKay, it meant Deb and Issak goes after Deb etc etc etc etc.
Issak went out like a bitch.
I think it was Larry who said this ages ago - this show needs to be 8-10 episodes, not 12 or 13 whatever it is.Comment

Isaak's character was good...it is something Dexter hasn't quite faced...a legitimate assassin.
One of Dexter's many problems is, the show doesn't use everything as the proper vehicle to get to an end. Isaak, after this season, really had no point. The pyromaniac, really had no point. Its just a string of constant big bads and episodic bads that are featured with no real meaning to the end game. I figured by Season 7 there wouldn't be a need for episodic kills or bads that lead to no where...that is the shit you do in Season 1 and in early seasons while you flesh out the main characters. And NONE of these guys really do anything to progress Deb's storyline.Comment
