I think older music is lost on younger generations. I'm 21 and I just started getting into Elton John, dude gets a bad rap because hes gay but his music is fantastic. I don't think I have any friends that listen to him. I'd call him underrated for today's youth, not older generations, and probably a lot more older musicians as well.

yeah Elton John gets a bad rep for nothing, Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding is one of the best songs ever, hell that whole Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album is classic from start to finish

I'll second Pitty's CCR nomination. So many classic songs that people might just not know are them. I'll also throw "The Band" in the hat, but they are pretty solidly rated as is.

Fleetwood Mac was a great band, they're known as a great band by just about everyone that knows anything about music. I honestly don't see how they're underrated.

The best thing Blind Melon related that ever happened was the time Shannon Hoon literally pissed on the audience in Vancouver! Now that was funny stuff.

I'm with you on the Blind Melon hate. I've heard worse bands (not many), but come on....most underrated band ever? Why?

If Shannon Hoon didn't piss on ticket-buying customers then kill himself (RIP), there would be nothing to talk about regarding Blind Melon.
