    Most anticipated movies till 2010

Buzzmans Most Anicpated Movies of the New Season

#9 The Princess and the Frog

The Princess and the Frog will hopefully bring back the lost art in 2D animation. The stuff they have no is good and all but I still remember the Disney classics as Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, and it kind of feels gone nowadays. Moreover, it will be the first African-American princess for Disney, which from some is a big deal.

    #8 2012

Only reason im excited to 2012 is to see what kind of CGI damage Emmerich can do to the world again. I could care less about the story or the people, though I do like Amanda Peet.

#7 The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans

I guarantee many people will automatically put this movie down because Nic Cage is in it, but I have always liked the guy. Sure he chooses some bad roles sometimes but when he does end up in the right one, its worth him picking all those other roles. Cage was born to play a drug addict if you ask me. He has the great stare that really develops a meaning in his character. Only thing that bugs me is Val Kilmer, could he get any fatter? Guy used to be sweet, then he gained like 100 lbs. Watch the trailer and tell Cage doesn’t look great in this.

    #6 The Box

Part of me thinks this movie can be really good but another part thinks it could fail miserably. I am hoping the latter half. I like James Marsden but dislike Cameron Diaz, who I cannot really take seriously most of the time. I hope that Richard Kelly saw something in her other then maybe the box office draw. Kelly, the director made Donnie Darko in 2001 and then kind of fell off the wagon, with just 1 film since then, but The Box seems like it has a clever enough story to create something good here and get him back on the map.

    #5 The Messenger

I will not say anything about the movie except it has a great cast, an intriguing story, and looks like it will go under the radar when it should not. Just watch the trailer and thank god Ben Foster finally got a leading role.

    #4 The Lovely Bones

To be honest, I do not know what intrigues me about this movie. I am not a huge fan of Mark Whalberg or Rachael Wiesz nor have I never read the book. Maybe it is that Peter Jackson is directing or that the trailer got me interested. I have no clue but I will be there opening day.

    #3 The Road

I have read the book to this and it was great. The movie seems to have captured that dark, torturous feel towards the world that was left behind. Casting Viggo Morternson as the desperate father was spot on and should earn him another Oscar nominee.

    #2 Sherlock Holmes

From the moment I found out Guy Ritchie was going to direct Sherlock Holmes, I knew I had to see it. Nearly all of his movies have been brilliant bringing a smart story, clever dialogue and such likeable characters. The cast he has put together couldn’t be any better with Downey, Law, and McAdams, but I am really happy he decided to include his go to guy, Mark Strong. He is one of my favorite actors and has a screen presence that should only make the villain that much better. Christmas Day should be a blast.

    #1 AVATAR

It is easy to understand why AVATAR should be #1 on just about everybody’s anticipation list. First off, its director, James Cameron, is one of the best in the business and the last film he directed was the box office juggernaut, Titanic. Second, the movie has been 13 years in the making and the trailer below appears to make the movie worth the wait. Third, a cast that features Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang and the up-and-coming Sam Worthington, looks to be an exciting one. Last, AVATAR will be in 3D, as you have never seen it before, as Cameron has been working on his own technology for years now.

Honorable Mentions: A Christmas Carol | The Men Who Stare at Goats | New Moon | Brothers | Invctus | Up in the Air

Yeah I cant wait to see Avatar, looks bad ass.

There was two other movies that looked decent along with Avatar when I went to see Saw. But I guess they both come out in January.

EDIT: After watching some trailers, Bad Lieutenant and The Road look solid as well.

When you saw Saw were the trailers Shutter Island, The Crazies, or The Edge of Darkness? They played all of them when I went and watched SAW.

I'd say Up in the Air, Shutter Island and The Road are my Top 3.

              Nice

              I would add:

              Shutter Island
              Iron Man 2

              and very begrudgingly add

The Last Airbender (I so wanna see a movie of this but one of my least favorite directors is making it - M. Night I'masham)

And I would quickly remove New Moon from your list.

The Messenger is easily going to take Sundance.

I only put movies that will come out before 2010, which is Nov and Dec. And as for New Moon, I want to see it because I have read the books and like comparing the movies to them. The 2nd one looks much better because it seems to follow the book material more and have better action. The 1st one suffrered from an amateur director who didnt know how to direct.

James Cameron has never made a bad movie, its in 3D, plus for me the 2nd trailer(which I posted as the trailer for AVATAR) really pulled me in. It gave you a general idea of what the story is but wanting to know more. Then the music it had in the background fit the scenes of the trailer. Its did exactly what a trailer should do.

I was never a Star Wars geek. So I guess I couldnt get into one of these movies.
