Whatever happaned to the conflict with Ben and Whidmore?

It just seemed like that was the main conflict, and the main plot a few seaons back. Yet they have pretty much just pushed that aside like it was no big deal the last Season and a half, and gone in a different direction. I really hope they go back and address that.

It just seemed every since they introduced Jacob and his buddy on the beach talking about theories the beginning of last season, it seems to have gone in a different direction. Almost like a different show at times.

Ben and Whidmore talked about not being able to kill each other, and always addressed "rules", so I'm hoping they address and link that with the two parties vying for the island now.

I'm sure i've read in interviews over the years that Widmore is key to the show's mythology so no doubt he will show up eventually, probably still lurking in the background trying to find the island.

Yea that's when he shot Desmond, but he couldn't pull the trigger on Penny before Desmond got back up and tackled him.

Ben couldn't pull the trigger on Widmore's daughter which would logically lead one to believe that Widmore's (Perceived) "Evil" > Ben's (Perceived) "Evil"

I put perceived in parenthesis because well we don't know for sure.

The only reason he didn't pull the trigger was because he heard the baby crying wasn't it? Probably bought back memories of his own childhood being raised without a mother.
