I think it would be just so badass if they follow the storyine with Gwen Stacey and The Goblin from the comic book. It would show how serious of an enemy the Goblin is to Spiderman and Peter Parker. The Goblin from the original SPidey was so god damn cheesy and laughable.

they attempted a more comic book-like Goblin for the original spidey, they decided to go against it. the Green goblin is such a great comic book character, but it may be difficult to pull that off in a hollywood movie. Unless they do Ultimate Goblin, which i hope they dont

The first Tobey Maguire Spiderman was actually a pretty sarcastic smart ass. They killed the concept in the subsequent sequels.
