    The most underrated movie 2000-09

Lots of great film throughout the past decade. While this movie is typically in everyone's (at least the most intelligent of everyone) Top XX list of the decade...I feel it is underrated because it might be at the top.

What a fantastic year 2007 was for film...No Country for Old Men, Michael Clayton, Gone Baby Gone, the final Bourne film, Juno, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, etc. etc...

However, this film is neck and neck with the best of that year, No Country for Old Men, IMO and ranks equal to it as one of the best of the decade.

    Daniel Day-Lewis + PT Anderson = Brilliance.

A masterful piece of work with a legendary performance by DDL

How can you call it underrated when it was nominated for 8 oscars and won 4, including Best Picture?

I always thought Batman Begins never got the respect it deserved.

The picture is broken so I'm assuming you are talking about There Will Be Blood. I thought the movie was very good, but it was basically a showcase of Daniel Day-Lewis' acting skills. The movie would have been shit with just about any other actor.

              This.

The one thing that kept running through my mind as I watched ''There Will Be Blood,'' was - ''Why are these people doing their best, to hold the movie back?'' This is one of those rare cases, where one guy completely carries the movie, and the cast around him.

Edit: I loved the movie, by the way. Thanks, Daniel.

I'd say Children of Men was more underrated, but I agree that There Will Be Blood is a kick ass movie.

I don't know what my most underrated movie of the decade is, but here are some of my favorites:

                        The Proposition
                        Snatch
                        The Departed
                        Memento
                        The Last King of Scotland
                        A History of Violence
                        Donnie Darko
                        Kill Bill
                        O'Brother Where Art Thou
                        Pan's Labyrinth
                        No Country For Old Men
                        Lost In Translation
                        There Will Be Blood
                        Children of Men
                        The Dark Knight
                        Batman Begins
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
The Lord of The Rings Trilogy
                        City of God

Sure there are some I'm forgetting. If I had to pick one as the most underrated, I'd have to go with The Proposition. One of my favorite movies and it seems like nobody has seen it or heard of it.

You been going through my movie collection?

Lol @ Orphan - A little too sleepaway camp for me, with the whole, (we'll do even the dumbest, most far fetched idea we can think of, to fool a majority of the viewers.) Decent little actress, though.

Actually those are all on my shelf right now, that's why I was able to list them real quick.

You need to add the ones you don't have, they're all entertaining, great replay value for all them except for The Last King of Scotland, IMO.
