No one talks about Kung Fu Hustle anymore, that movie was classic.

Most of the movies mentioned in this thread, including There Will Be Blood don't qualify as underrated to me. When I think underrated I think of movies most people generally either don't like or are indifferent towards, or just haven't seen that I think are great. TWBB was nominated for 8 Oscars and it did win 2. It's even on imdb's top 250. That's not the greatest list to judge by but it does say that, generally speaking, people really like it.

Most of you are just throwing up movies that people mostly love already, like The Prestige and Donnie Darko - which, btw, I think is terribly overrated. For underrated, I'd like to see either movies you like that most people don't or are just obscure enough that not as many people have seen them. I think Brick would be a great example of this. Not that many have actually seen it & half of those who did, don't get it.

My beloved Oldboy doesn't count, to me. True, not as many have seen it as a lot of others but it gets more than it's fair share of praise. Many critics have listed it among the best of the decade and again, it's achieved a spot on imdb's top 250. However, another movie in the same trilogy qualifies more, Lady Vengeance. Even less people have seen it. Those who have like it, but it remains the far more obscure of the two.

Children of Men is a tricky one, btw. Most people seem to love it, though many didn't get it and it was totally ignored by the Academy that year.

Some I thought were underrated as in...

You didn't like it but I did:
      Daredevil
      The Reaping
      SW: The Phantom Menace
      The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3

You didn't like nearly as much as I did:
      Miami Vice
      Black Dynamite
      Transamerica

      and finally,
      You may not have seen:
      Maria Full of Grace
      Eve's Bayou
      The Hit Man Files
      H

#1 I agree most people here have a warped sense of what is over or underrated, i will also say a movie that most people don't know or haven't seen but is fantastic could constitue being underrated

#2 your dislike of Donnie Darko is just wrong and twisted.

#3 Star Wars Phantom Menace was 1999.

People really need to see In the Company of Men. I bet not a single person in these forums has seen the movie. It has to have 1 of the best characters in Aaron Eckheart before he hit it big, and has one of the best endings to a film.

I'll watch it tonight, if you rent ''The Interview'' with Hugo Weaving.

Make sure it's ''The Interview'' and not ''Interview.'' If it's aussie, with Hugo Weaving, you nailed it.

I'll post my thoughts of ''In The Company of Men'' in the ''Last Movie you watched'' thread later tonight.

Its taking sometime to download, the other movies I started at the sametime have been done for awhile, but is Interview the one with Steve Bescemi and Sienna Miller? I saw it on TV at like 3 am and watchged it and thoguht it was pretty good.

Deja Vu and Out of Time...

                            Two worthy choices by Denzel.

Whaaaat? Deja Vu was shitty, absolutely. But Out of Time was a good movie IMO.
