Happy was a glorified babysitter at the beginning of the episode then during that end montage, he was putting the consoling works on Opie's porn wifey.

The episode was 1/3 "i knew that would happen", 1/3 "holy shit" and 1/3 "planting seeds". I give it a 6.666666666666666666666666666666666/10

A few things I just didn't care for in the pilot was the repetition of so many tropes this show does every season. Not even 1 episode in and Jax is giving his mom the family speech involving Tara. I am so tired of this on-going battle hat has no depth or consequence to it. How long is Clay going to keep breathing? When I heard everyone going crazy on twitter and facebook at the end I was like did they finally fucking do it? Nope. I have no clue why I would even think that, he will never die. If the intention of Jax cheating on Tara is to make him an even-more unlikable character, then it did a fine job, but I think they did it just to fill the season up. I already mentioned Daniel Logue and how much I enjoyed him before the reveal he was a addict. He kind of went from the man out for revenge that was crossing a line into a generic psycho. Things can obviously change but thats how I felt about him.

I still enjoyed it though, but I dont know if I'll ever like it as much as I did before the season 4 finale concluded and Clay was left breathing.

A big ratings night for SOA. Best in the series for total viewership and viewers 18-49.

FX’s ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Season 6 Premiere Hits Series High

        BY DOMINIC PATTEN | Wednesday September 11, 2013 @ 2:01pm PDT

The bikers of FX drama Sons Of Anarchy really revved their engines last night. The 10 PM Season 6 premiere of the Kurt Sutter-created series was watched by 5.87 million viewers Tuesday with 3.94 million among adults 18-49. That’s a series record for SOA in both the demo and in viewership. It also makes the SOA Season 6 debut the No. 1 show on both broadcast and cable TV among the key demo. FX estimates that when the Live+7 numbers come in last night’s show will be the most watched program in the network’s 19-year history. The previous Live+7 record holder was the Season 5 debut of SOA which garnered 7.15 million viewers total and 4.80 million among adults 18-49. In Live+SameDay, Tuesday’s 10 PM 90-minute episode was up 9% from the 5.37 million overall viewers and up 13% from the 3.5 million viewers among adults 18-49 that SOA’s Season 5 debut drew on September 11, 2012 at 10 PM.

That 90-minute show last year was the best season premiere and the top-rated episode the SAMCRO gang had in its series history before last night’s Season 6 debut. Overall, the beginning of SOA’s penultimate sixth season, which saw intrigue, sex, violence, betrayal and a shocking shooting with serious implications for SAMCRO at the end of the episode, pulled in 8.09 million viewers and 5.30 million in the demo with its initial airing and 11 PM encore last night. The December 4 Season 5 finale of Sons Of Anarchy drew in 4.66 million viewers and 2.99 million in the key demo in Live+Same Day ratings.

My big problem is Jax Teller acting all holier than thou throughout the series, but has no problem cheating on his wife whenever it's convenient. OK, I also have a problem with Charlie Hunnam being so damn over the top as an actor too, but this whole holier than thou character who is anything but is kind of annoying to me.

Apparently Jax Teller is full on British now.

(I realize Hunnam is British, but he isn't even trying to sound American any more)

Between the montages, the show fillers, and the "guns in schools" political messaging, this show has officially jumped the shark.

To be fair, even his English accent sounds fake.

                Now?

Show was always kind of over the top and silly, wasn't meant to be compared to actual quality dramas. Hard to say it jumped the shark ... now when it's been schlock-filled throughout. I feel like all narrative momentum of seasons 1 and 2 were totally deflated by the show's refusal to kill Clay. Since then it's just been spinning wheels (no pun intended) but it's still an enjoyable ride (ok maybe that one was intentional).

I'm still willing to give the show a chance because it has been solid outside of season 3. There was a major crossroads when Clay was getting put into general population and Sutter went the wrong way in my opinion. A real outlaw biker would rather be killed than be labeled a rat, especially one that held the gavel at the table. I thought we were finally going to see Clay removed from the storyline in the right way so that it could proceed to the next chapter and we got slapped down.

If you thought Clay was getting killed by a prison shank or by anyone but Jax or Gemma then you're crazy.

It's pretty much been spelled out since season one.

The show is fun for what it is, a campy show about a biker gang that Sutter basically uses just to see how much shock value he can achieve on basic cable.

NAHSTE is exactly right, if you are watching this show and comparing it to Breaking Bad or The Wire then you're doing it wrong.

I don't think I ever said SoA was comparable to Tolkien or Hemingway but I still like the show and have watched it since S01E01. If you are going to write a show about bikers though, it's best if you write it as how they would behave. That twist in the storyline was piss poor.

The end of season 4 was awful as well. It was just a big lol jk moment. This shows problem is that it lacks the balls to be what it could be.

Except Clay literally killed another Son for no good reason.. not like the code has ever meant that much to him.

Pearlman is a draw so he stays around. I don't think the way he's been kept around has been so far fetched. Especially compared with some of the really batshit crazy things that happen on SoA.

I've wanted Clay dead since he ordered the hit on Opie that ended up landing on Donna. Shameful shit, he should have been offed. I credit Sutter for coming up with so many convoluted reasons why Jax is all like "I NEED CLAY ALIVE JUST A LITTLE LONGER BRO!"

The show started on waterskis with a shark looming. It's pretty terrible in both a good way and a bad way. It's not like American Horror Story, which tries to see how many sharks it can jump over in a single season (also has the luxury to reboot each season). It's strictly an entertaining show, there's little substance, which makes a school shooting with me, especially if it's the one of the first dominos in the downfall of Jax Teller.
