So am I to understand Varys was actually helping the Taergaryns ? Didn't he tell friend zone to let Daenerys get poisoned ?
Would his help go back as far as helping the babies escape during the final battle ?

There is a lot of speculation when it comes to Varys' motives. That's a particular part that never really made sense to me, because in the books he seems even more inclined to help the Targs. The show at least has seemed to paint him as something of a "prepare for everything" kind of guy, so he says the right thing for the right situation (in this case, agree with Robert that she needed to be poisoned). That being said, what if Jorah hadn't intervened?
I don't know how much they intend to veer from the books with that plot thread, but if they stick to them, it will get even MORE convoluted later, although it does at least seem like he has always been for bringing the Targs back in some capacity, if only to wipe the slate clean. It seems like he'd also be okay with someone like Tyrion ruling, as, as he has stated, he's more for the good of the realm than some shmuck having a power fantasy.

Thank you. That "what if Jorah hadnt intervened" is what confused me. Im leaning much more towards rolling with the punches. Since I kinda slept on the show early on Im often confused to some of the connections. I'm almost done catching up w/BR extras. Ex when Brienne saw Renley die I and others I asked took it as she was crushed that she failed...but apparently she was in love with Renley since childhood..toootally changes that scene.
Another question. I re-watched last 15 mins of S4 finale before starting this season...when Tyrion catches Shay in bed with Tywin he's crushed for obvious reasons...but was Shay ever truly in love with Tyrion or was it all a ploy from the get go, the way Tywin played Tyrion when he was a teen and paid some chick to pretend to love him ?
The fifth season of HBO’s Game of Thrones is upon us. Winter is still coming. Millions will tune in for more of Tyrion’s witty ripostes and for some mo ...
