Overall, still good. Just sad to see it gone again
Stannis came out of nowhere , I didnt know wtf was going on , didnt see that coming.
The white walker fight was bad ass.
So was showdown#2 for the Cleganes.

The Arya thing I dont think I really understand. Also weird that they just left the castle and wondered off again.

Dragon Queen missed a huge opening now she's all vulnerable. Brans gonna star in How to train your Dragon pt3.

Tyrion is the man. Sweet vengeance but Cersei still lurks.
Best reason to have a license.

The Arya stuff confuses me too, and I read the books (granted, the show is WAY off book in that respect -- the Hound and Brienne never even met in the book, let alone beat the shit out of each other). The editing of the Arya stuff just seems off. Almost like there was really no point in having them arrive at the Eyrie. I guess it was just to show how far gone Arya was, but if Jon Arryn's men knew that Arya Stark was right outside (which, if I recall correctly, they did), there is NO WAY she would be allowed to just mosey off. Kind of silly.

I was really happy for some book diversion, because at some point we're gonna have to accept that George Martin is a super unhealthy old man who is way happier doing PR than he is writing books and is going to die before he finishes that series. Furthermore, if they followed the books to the letter there'd be almost no reason to watch the show - I thought I knew what was coming but they changed it up on me.

Im not a book reader im just bad about resisting temptation so ive wiki of fire and ice'd just about every major character now.

I know what character everyone wanted, and im just not sure how she can be brought into the fold at this point

Very easily, actually, and in a way that will honestly make just as much sense. She appears in two scenes in the books: her introduction where she interacts with a totally non-important character that will not be in the show; and her appearance in book 4, in which she interacts with a major character and arguably causes some serious potential ripple effects to the story (of which, book readers still haven't gotten proof of, just speculation).

I think that she'll now be introduced with the second appearance, if only because it's a way to use the material that they have for her without a huge gap in between (which likely would happen if they followed the books strictly).

So, I've come around on the decision, in other words, and I can see why it makes sense this way.

I think it has a lot more to do with a commitment to FOX as a series regular than it did with fitting her into the narrative.

Um...you might want to tag that.

And I imagine it goes both ways, I think. I think it works for the narrative regardless.

Also, wasn't she not even cast until February of 2013? When did filming take place, like January 2014? Seems unlikely that would influence shooting a 5 minute scene with her, particularly considering I think most if not all of GoT was shot in 2013.

Yeah but its a huge time suck to go to Iceland or wherever the hell they film the scenes in the north, to say nothing of the time in the make-up chair, especially for a cameo appearance.

HBO is shedding a lot of payroll this off-season with this cast. Probably made sense for all parties just to hold off.

That's possible, although I did just read that the director of the finale actually said that it was basically because they didn't want her to just be a one off, at least, not at this time.

And she wouldn't/won't appear in the North.

First thing I thought of when Bran Stark asked the Three Eyed Crow if he's gonna help him walk again and he replies

“ You will never walk again... but you will fly. ”

Bran is going to take over Khaleesi's dragons.

Yeah but hes a "good" kid so hes probably just gonna be an eagle and poop on Lannisters before he runs into the side of a castle.

So I'm just now getting around to watching this series on HBO Go. Glad I stuck with it a few episodes (currently on season 1, episode 6) because the first couple of episodes didn't reel me in but it's starting to get really interesting now.

I finally got caught up today. We watched all ten episodes of season 4 over this weekend. Damn is this show great and I'm usually not into this medieval, fantasy shit. So many great characters.
