I saw Hunx with his Punkettes at SXSW (now I guess he uses a dude band), and while the music wasn't great, he put on quite the show. Fun to watch.

Gene/Josh/Anthony, you guys listen to Twin Sister? They only have two EP's, but they're both solid. Hopefully they release an LP this year.

Si senor. I really like the one that has the cover with the feet in the air.

Not sure if you're into the Kills, but have you given their new album a listen. I'm curious as to the Ian Curtis head count for the new shit.

My main gripe with the album is that it wasn't very memorable for me. If someone aksed me for favourite songs I could name more than two per album but with this one I'd say there's three songs I like particularly but probably wouldn't even be considered close to a favourite.

Of course for me Okkervil River have set a very high bar so even when they fail to meet expectations they are still worthy of regular ipod rotation.

Thanks for introducing me to The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart...I checked out some more of their stuff on youtube and I'll definitely be picking up their CD's when I get the chance.

I just...can't really get into The Pains of Being Pure at Heart. Both albums are just okay to me. But, it happens.

Also, Bon Iver Bon Iver Bon Iver Bon Iver.

                        Release Date- 9 May 2011

I've always liked this band from Austin, (I'm looking at you Josh). They've always had a kind of folksy feel about them, like a more folksy Arcade Fire. Their last album, The Stand Ins, is one of my favorite albums in recent memory. It seems as if on this album, they've incorporated new sounds. Possibly a result of new found confidence gained after their last success. I was eagerly anticipating this album and it doesn't disappoint. I would say it's a notch down from The Stand Ins, but it's still a great album.

I finally got around to really giving this album a good, diligent listen...its quite strong. I gave it a gloss over earlier, thought it was good, but after further review, its quite good.
